People say the same about my wine, Complain about the price, but like his syrup its made the old fashioned way, with care and if you knew the cost and time and effort going into it you would pay the money. Prices exist and scale depending on time that it takes to make something, how scarce it is and how much it costs to produce. Syrup takes a lot of oeffort, wine takes a lot of effort, I make it them spend 1-3 years making $0 while it ages but I still have to pay employees, pay bills pay for the electricity for the AC units that keep the wine safe. And pay for insurance if shit happens. I am also a beekeeper got into it because $10-30 a bottle for honey is crazy it takes a lot of time and effort to produce but still that was wicked expensive.
Speaker / Headphone warning at 20:00!! It goes from you cannot hear anything to extreme loud boiler flame. Just literally blew one of my desktop speakers. $400 desktop speakers at that!
@@BissellMapleFarm honestly I think it was you. Always enjoyed maple syrup making and I think I found Spencer afterwards. Fellow Ohio resident too north west side.
Excellent video Shawn. Might have to find me some of the syrup they make. It would be interesting to me at least to know how feet or miles of line they have ran around the area up there. Thanks again man. Really enjoyed it. Be careful be safe and stay warm and keep up the great work. Bruce in Wv!!!
Always nice to see Nate and Kevin and seeing their process is fascinating. Nate(if you're reading), do you have any places carrying your maple syrup in the Poconos or Lehigh Valley areas of Pennsylvania?
How about a handul of videos on how to operate that bobcat. A few years back I needed to learn how to operate one and could not find anything good on TH-cam or the web.
Another one! That is by far my favorite syrup! After the samples you guys gave us at the Spencer pro event, I have been buying it ever since!!! I wonder why they do not cover the top of the tub where the syrup is
Maple sugar is a complex sugar. So it takes longer to digest. It has been said that the glycemic index of maple sugar is better than cane sugar. I don't recommend pounding maple sugar by any means! But it takes longer to digest, being low invert sugar than it does glucose. It might change your life. It might not. But I would be happy to send you some on behalf of Spencer Lawncare. Go to our website and send us a note.
I know exactly which Boy Scout camp he is talking about. Beaumont Reservation . Worked there summers from 1968 thru 1972. We weren't running maple syrup when I worked there.
I'm just curious do you all know you don't supposed to get drunk because that's a sin and we supposed to be more like Jesus and think about it if Jesus was here right now you wouldn't get drunk in front of him and we don't supposed to have one foot in the world and one foot with God Because God wants all of us and we don't supposed to be like the world and people these days just want to be people Pleasers and God didn't make alcohol or nothing like that man made that
I can't lie.... If you drank 350 gallons of our barrel aged maple syrup, you would get drunk. It is 3850 lbs. So, I don't recommend getting drunk on our barrel aged syrup. You might have some issues with a couple tons of sugar in your system.
How much alcohol is left after the emptied barrels are shipped, go through the aging process, and after the product is heated for bottling? I'm no scientist, like Nate is, but I'd have to guess the amount would be exceptionally low.
Very cool! Thank you for sharing with us SLC! Thank you to Bissell Maple for showing us all the sweetness!
Wow, what a process. Thanks for showing us this. ❤ I’ve seen the other video’s, but out there in the woods is amazing.
Love it

We are exploring all of our options for the property. Seeing what resources we have.

so is the maple sugar similar to cane sugar as far as how the body digests it? currently I use stevia as a sugar substitute bc of hard liver disease.
Honestly, I'm not sure! Nate would know

I'm not sure! But I love the history side of it.
You are correct!!!
Thank you for sharing Spencer!! Very educational!!👍
So does this mean they are setting up to do maple?
Does he know anything about Canadian maple production?
Yes, he does. He's been up there many times and to a ton of those operations!
Do they make maple syrup in Canada?!?!?
