Going over all your past videos - absolutely fantastic and easy to follow. I've found them most inspiring in the fact that - I love mono - watching you build your presets/sounds has enabled me to be able to strip everything back to mono, things I wish I knew when I first got Native Helix after using Pod Farm, and pod x3 live unit for years. The change over/learning curve, for me was horrific.
I'm at the end of my tether with the Essex. Trying out this preset tomorrow and if it works, I'll score the full version. If it doesn't, there must be some weird tone in the headrush frfr that just doesn't get along with that model. Sounds great here, so it will be interesting.
Is your frfr harsh and honky? I've been using these vids to get the A30 to sound good for months in our FOH, but it's always honky and harsh, no matter how many high cuts. For it to sound decent, I have to cut like 1.2k and 1.8k, which takes me out of the mix completely. Interested to know what's the deal with yours.
I tried that head rush thing and immediately returned it. It was everything they advertised, I can make things sound good with it, but I had to really fight with everything to get it to sound right. I just wanted to be able to plug in and play loud and get the feeling (kind of like a real amp). So I took my stomp to Guitar Center and AB tested speakers until I found but I was looking for. QSC K.12.2
Thanks Jason; great revisit of the iconic Essex! For your end of chain best practices; a question. For six string dropped tunings, seven, and more strings; how might you--if at all--adjust the low cut on your EQ block? As always; thanks man!
One of the things that I dislike about the Helix the most is having to create presets for each type of pickup guitar I use. The company that creates a rapid adjustment based on pickups will win. The cut on this amp helps alot when switching from sss to hb or P90
I use EQ blocks that I save in the favorites when I do that. Everything is set to Les Paul by default, but I have a block I can pull in for my strat, a different one for my casino. I also have a multiband compressor block for the casino that works even better than the EQ block. Always first on the signal chain.
Hi Rudolf, so sorry to hear about the troubles. Are you on the Line 6 Marketplace site and logged into your account? I just tested it and on mine and I do get a choice in the list for Belgium. Let me know and I can follow up with the Line 6 folks if it is still not working for you. Sorry again, but we will get it sorted out for you!
I almost started laughing. I've just finished watching yesterday's video of Thomas Blug's Live stream video where he played a real 64 Vox in comparison against his Amp1. The tones were stellar, open and so beautiful. He also compared the Amp1 to his vintage Fenders and Marshalls. Go watch the video, listen and you will understand. No hard feelings but this sound here sounds dead in comparison. But this is not a challenge of course. YOU started the comparison to a Vox 😂.

@@BillySoundFarm its an uphill battle with the headrush . There's something weird about the mids in it, I dunno.
Just picked up the k8.2 - so far so good, nice and flat on the stage monitor setting
@@gregghome3339 hmm, this needs a deep investigation!

for low tunings you want the low cut pre-drive, especially if you're using higher gain settings
thx, i have it at the start of the chain. that makes sense. thx again!@@dicecard921
