    Correction at 3:47 - the IMU is by Continental, not Bosch. Excuse me! :)

    • @Iron_Acker
      @Iron_Acker 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Bosch IMU was built into every other bike. I thought this is the only one on the market. I am curious to see if we will find it more often in other bikes in the future.

    Great review Juliane. Thank you. I agree with your comments as I test ride one last week and it is set up from the factory a bit too firm for the roads. For me even at 189 cm /90 kgs without gear and a 34-35 inch inseam) I actually felt faster and more comfortable on the Street Triple RS. It has way more than enough power for the roads plus you save a few dollars. 👍😎🇦🇺

  • @robertmariani
    @robertmariani 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Thank you for the very thorough review. It’s really disappointing to hear the same two criticisms of this by bike, over and over. One, that the suspension is too stiff for the road, where this bike is going to spend most of the time. Two, that the throttle is a bit twitchy. I really wonder how Triumph could let this throttle issue get past them? At least with the suspension, that could be adjusted with either internal settings and/or change the spring rate. But the throttle being fly by wire, there’s nothing one could do to change that. Hopefully Triumph is already working on a software update.

    Very nice review … one very weird question please . How high is the bike from the ground ? The ground clearance? I live in the Indian Himalayas with some
    Rather bad roads ( in some areas ) or tall speed breakers . I am considering to buy the Speed Triple to upgrade from my Ninja 1000 SX … but worried . I used to have a Street Triple before that used to get its belly scraped on high speed breakers. Thank you for your kind effort.

    For a stocky bugger like myself 178cm 90kgs, thing fits me like a glove, flickable, goes like a scared jackrabbit on steroids, truly a weapon. Only criticism? unless you're carving canyons, or on the track, for every day riding it is stiff. I turned my dampeners all the way down to make it tolerable for more than a 1 tankful ride. And as a commuter i got over 250kms of range. Start using it however, and you will lol yeah that range drops considerably

      @@Speedytrip They are fine once set up.
      My 1200RS feels great on the standard settings triumph set them at. They are still quite sporty in what ever setting this is and have a little too much rebound but they are far from bad and everything even remotely uncomfortable about them could be ironed out by setting them to comfort.
      It doesn't hurt to go over bumps on the road and the road in Bristol and the surrounding country are hardly well maintained at the moment.
      So yes. Very compliant extremely good suspension. Literally world class.

    I've heard about the stiff suspension in other reviews too, but I bought this bike a few weeks ago and have a little under 1000km on it and in my opinion the suspension is good and not too stiff at all. Maybe every reviewer is very light weight? :D I weigh at 80kg and haven't done any adjusting to the suspension. Then again, I have a long history with cruisers of which the latest was a Harley Dyna so my standards might be different than yours :D
    By the way, about fuel consumption, I had one riding session where I tried to ride as economically as possible (no hooligan shenanigans or anything) and my consumption was 5-6 litres per 100km so it's not a super hungry bike if you ride it maturely :)

    Great video keep up the good work. I have some questions: Some professional reviewers and journalists such as MCN claimed the bike is a pain to ride at slow speed and in centre town (It is good for twisty roads and canyon like those old Ducati). What is your feedback on this?
    Will you say that this bike is closer to the Street Triple RS or to the Old Speed 1050 RS? The same journalists claimed that the bike isn’t plush and it is badly set for the road as it is too stiff . What is your comment? Last, apparently from the same journalists, you cannot adjust the suspensions to make it rideable on the road (the margin in settings doesn’t allow that). Have you tried to adjust the suspensions to make them plush? Were you successful? If not why?
    Thank you for sharing this great review.
