I'll bet dollars to donuts this gentleman listened to Dennis Brain's interpretation - a lot. He has a similar lightness to his playing, even a playfulness with it. And plays with the orchestra, not on top of it. Well done.
A year later, I've not looked at who won yet ... this guy is, hands down, my pick. He may have messed up a little but he's dynamic and confident, dude left everything on the table. That's what I like to see and hear. Also, I liked his faster pace. Love this orchestra!
Technically superior, good musicality, not as much as the Czech, but definitely superior to the German, whose interpretation was very stiff and relatively old school. This concerto, much more so than the first must be played with greater musicality. This competitor receives my vote.
Hoping you have seen where he is now. Solo Horn Chamber Orchestra of Paris. And, as of July 2021, The Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg has appointed Nicolas Ramez, 27, as its new solo horn.

This guy is a very good musician
Enjoyable. He knows how to take command of that is from it. Wonderful to listen to. The young man should go far.
A tip: you can watch movies at flixzone. Been using it for watching a lot of movies lately.
