That's the point of the story, Pinocchio understood what he had to do; take care of his father, proved himself brave, truthful, and unselfish. Fulfilling what it means to be a real boy, and at last, the fairy rewards him and have him earn his humanity, and with Geppetto they become a real family.
Except in this game, P has to do the opposite of all these things to become human. These are automatically programmed into all puppets, so P essentially has to defy his programming.
Disclaimer: i got no idea how much of this makes sense i got a theory (that i dont know where to post) that the boy we play as isnt actually named pinocchio and is unnamed, pinocchio is just the name that we the community/player gave him cuz its what the game is based on, if the story of pinocchio didnt exist before the game was made we would be calling him p, also i think it would be ironic (idk if that would be the right word) for geppeto to name him after a story book character that already exist in their universe (the book is mentioned in the hotel but the name of it wasnt said) spoiler for ending: i also think geppeto didnt give him an actually name cuz he didnt see him truly as his son and instead carlo's vessel, not sure if we can actually call pinocchio before the ending but i believe that whichever ending you get pinocchio earns the right to call himself carlo

4:36 D. Gray? Dorian Gray? That's a slick reference, though Dorian wasn't the artist in that story...
Neither Pinocchio.
Wait, who said Carlo? Was that him?
sounded like romeo
@@pitinhaThe voice sounded higher than and softer than Romeo's, though. It might be P.
It’s his inner voice reminding him of who he really is

It's not a boy, it's a puppet
