Tamalli is a word from nahuatl languaje and it's pronounced like in English.
The same with the word "chile".
Nahuatl native speakers pronounce it like in English, may be "chilly".

What a smart 5 yr old! Good on the parents for teaching her Spanish as well because now a days I know a lot of people who speak Spanish fluently only teach their kids English. I personally am teaching my kids both languages.
Same!!! My son is mexican and cambodian so he learning 3!!! He fets confused but hes really good now im learning khmer (cambodian) from my son. And my youngest daughter is full mexican she only knows spanish right now but shes 9 mknths so she has a long way to go !!! Congrats keep teachjng your kids we need to fix this generation up again!

Yeah, my parents speak spanish as well as my extended family but only taught my siblings and i partially. My spanish is really choppy but once i found out i was pregnant (im due next month yay!) i started taking spanish lessons to improve and just teaching myself so he can speak english & spanish. It just sucks cause learning it now is pretty difficult even though i already have a fairly large understanding of the language, the plasticity for language just isnt there anymore.
I think it's because you may have taken Native Spanish

The Life Of Maya XD there's two ways to roll r's. With the back of the throat, or the front of the tongue. Spanish uses the front of the tongue. I can't do that, I can only do the back of the throat. English has a very strange R sound in general, that puts the tongue in a very strange position. So it's harder for me to adapt. It's just easier for you I suppose.

She should teach people how to say dulce, if you don’t speak Spanish you say dolce/dolche (b/c of Italian, just a guess) SMH. I heard a couple that was British, who decided to name their kid Dulcie, & yet they pronounced it Dolsi, I was like, girl no, there's a -U in the child's name not -O(in my head, but I didn't correct them). Like do you even know how to pronounce your own kid’s name properly.

In buzzfeeds video where Steven goes to eat afternoon tea, you hear the guy say Dol-che in stead of dulce, I just think some people don’t realize dulce & dolce are two different languages not said the same
They probably pronounce it that way because of English vowel sounds. I prefer to pronounce my name the way my Mexican mom says it (Dolsi) instead of the way my white American dad says it (Dahlsi). It's his mother's name but whatever, I'm not into that pronunciation.
