I think you are doing very well. Guzheng is popular in Viet-Nam now as well. Also alot of newer dan tranh have 22 strings and are made of heaver wood then the used to be, Many are square front like guzheng . Music and instruments cross all boarders . Keep going you rock! Best Wishes
Omg you are such a hard working person I can’t imagine how can you handle so many things in life at the same time Can you really get balanced I love your video btw
Thank you for posting your progress!! Your vid gives me courage to start and keep with it. I have my Guzheng finger trainer coming in the mail. I can’t wait!! I think in week 4 your Zheng was out of tune? (Not sure 🤷🏻♀️ but just a guess) Breaking the string is pretty scary 💀 Watched vids on tuning and they recommend removing the string off of the bridge, adjust peg then put the string back on bridge for the higher 8-10 strings. For finer tuning you scoot the bridge back or forward. There is a lot of pressure on the upper strings so tightening while on bridge will cause the string to snap at the bridge.
I even don’t know whether it was out of tune or not 😂😭 my bad I tried hard with that 😂 a bit stressful for the submission to the instructor. I tried different ways to tune it even tune string first then fix the bridge after, same for me the strings are too hard I was scared the hell to put the bridges in. I didn’t dare to press the tuner too hard and just felt happy with whatever it was. I know it would be better with right notes but really breaking so many strings gave me too much pressure. I hope you will be doing well with your course. I do enjoy playing this instrument when I need some calm space for myself
@@changkao_ I’m sorry! I posted my reply then a day afterwards I was thinking of your video and remembered you had those scary string breaks. 😢😢 Makes sense it was out of tune then. It was brave of you to try tuning after that! I was relieved and happy for you when your instructor tuned your zheng!
I am still busy watching the video, already at 1 week where it shows morning practice, it sounds really amazing, Chinese instruments really have a unique sound
Hard to tell on the video but it seems like you were tuning the wrong peg and playing a different string. If when u are tuning and rhe sound of the string does not change at all always STOP immediately and make sure you are tuning the right string
From 1st-7th strings, you should take of the bridge when tuning these. From 8th-21st, it is ok not to take of the bridge but be careful when tuning it. If you're scared, you can just take off the bridge. 😊 Oh by the way, I'm now in the advance level of playing my guzheng. And, I have uploaded my third TH-cam video last Thrusday. 😁
Tuning is my nightmare You have no idea how many strings I’ve broken It’s built fear in me since the beginning :))) Thanks for the advice I would try it again next time
Thank you for this video! Keep it on going!
