S2000 - Can We Paint Over Sun Damaged Wrap ?
• Honda S2000 - Remove ...
Watching the injectors getting cleaned is a great feeling.
What kind of monster would let this happen to a low mileage S2000? Wow.
I use near-boiling water on a towel to remove wraps/PPF. It allows a very large surface of the area to get warm and stay warm.
them ohlins tho, id be interested
I'm curious about the history of the car. Looks like someone spent a lot of time and lots of money on it! Glad to see it was rescued.
Boiling water or steam might work well to get the wrap off. I’ve seen Larry from Ammo NYC remove old PPF this way. You deserve a medal for all of that tireless work!🫶🏻
I've seen people use an electric water kettle to remove PPF & old vinyl wrap: heat water, pour the hot water over a small section of film/wrap, and then work the section of film/wrap off. Repeat as necessary
Thanks for sharing what you do and what you know. I just love learning.
Boil some water. Works best if you don’t want to cook the glue. You are gonna need some kind of insulated gloves.
Afterwards, remover and patience for the leftover glue
We're all going to enjoy the rest of the videos of the progress on this S2K. Already enjoyed this one.. It's tough to believe people allow their cars to get in that condition but I've seen it so many times with nice cars and nice motorcycles. Can't wait for the forthcoming updates and progress.
Poor AP1.......... LHT to the rescue
Superior did an amazing job on our C7 GS's rear bumper. Can't recommend them enough, Ron is a solid dude.
Rapid Tac Adhesive Remover is what I'd use on stubborn wraps like that. You'd be amazed on how much you'll be able to salvage on that paint. For removal, you're unfortunately on the right path...it's slow and it sucks.
Superior has done all our paint work for 15+ years and do amazing work.
Nice to see an AP1 with such low mileage, just a shame it's been a bit neglected. At least it's in safe hands now 👍👍. This should be a good series 👍.
Wish I could find any abandoned s2000. Closest I can find is in Bedford, VA with body damage all around. Still wants $12k, no finance.
Abandoned is more of a ‘lost interest’. We had to buy it. But yes, these are very expensive now.
Love those wheels Bronze and lightweight as well OZ quality
Good luck guys! Excited to see each step of the build to the finished product. Let me get my checkbook ready.
Love the revival! Keep the videos coming!
Can't wait to see the progress on this one!
Holy Moly, electrical stuff was always my enemy. Poor abandoned S2000. Luckily you guys take care of and the amount of TLC you put in is amazing. This green wrap was in general a bad choice. And look at those injectors back up and running. Always amazing getting them restored. Great to see the engine works again. Can't wait to meet you guys anytime soon.
Greetings from Germany
This will fun to see the transformation!
This S2000 is lucky to have LHT to revive it!!!
Seems like a pretty quality build. I wonder why it was so neglected.
People’s lives change
Steam to remove that wrap!
use hot boiling water to remove the wrap. watch Ammo NYC do it on his videos. works perfectly
Try a steam wand on the wrap
3 year old gasoline? Sounds like job #1 would be cleaning the tank and fuel pump.
Cool project you are selling this after you go through it?
How much for the suspension?
I believe that is plasti dip. Go to dip your car website and order dip dissolver. I think that should resolve this!
I wouldn’t mind buying a s2k built by you. How much for the finished masterpiece?
$ for the full turbo setup? Header, turbo, tubing, ecu, injectors?
damn 40 min in im already comment 11, sad it sat for so long esp with such low miles will def clean up nice!
Use steamer to remove the wrap that's the best option over the heat gun.
1000%
What is your opinion on having light 18” wheels on S2000? Any advantages / disadvantages?
18” look pretty good on an S2000. As long as the off set is correct , they are pretty light and it’s lowered.
with the cut grille it looks very Miata haha
How much do you think you'll be selling it for? I'm planning on buying one
Whats the go to for engine management on the forced induction ap1s? the AEM v2 that was mentioned?
Yes. Or what your favorite tuners likes.
what coilovers are on the car?
Hey, man. I have a CG6 that I’d love for you guys to work on. Could you provide some contact info so we can get the ball rolling?
Soak it in vinegar and water overnight before heating up the rest of it
Boo to that owner for doing that to this car
Unless he passed and the car sat there until the family sold it. Still doesn't explain why the green wrap/dip on a white S
poor choice to do with a gran prix white...
Who the hell abandons an s2000 like this? The f
clickbait title: CAN WE PAINT OVER THIS SUN DAMAGED WRAP?!? lol watch the comment section explode
I’m going To try it 😉
