I was in Sigonella at the Air Force base in 2001 when she had a small eruption, it was an amazing thing to witness. Ash and smoke everywhere....Very cool footage...
Very interesting! What was the exact date? I went up to watch on 11/11/2002 2:30 - 4:30pm approx by which time the road was clear of ash (fortunately!). I went with a guide and got to about 400 metres of the show. We were looking more or less due north (and perhaps a bit west) - Monte Frumente Supino on the left and the new cone to its right forming a saddle-shaped pass between them.
Thank you and good point, and good work someone who will actually get up and close with something so dangerous and good call on getting out of that Japanese town when you did
@Blascogeno Well because I can talk about any f***** thing I like u dickwad, why dont you comment on every other video on You Tube while you are at it !
They risk their lives so we can see what we would never see if not for them. They have the bigest ball while you sir have none! Thank you for your risk, risk takers, so we can see and feel a small piece of what you experience.
@Blascogeno Well, I guess that makes me an idiot too as I was there about the same time (11/11/2002) and I'm still here! Magnificent sight, especially on the way back down when the 'pillar of smoke' turned into to 'pillar of fire' (to quote the Biblical Book of Exodus)!
Haha! That has to be the most unprofessional way of dealing with haters I've seen so far. Sadly this renders all your footage of no further interest to me.

A speed ticket for Mr. Mackley! haha
Funny, the dogs in Japan were going crazy, but the retriever at the ski resort was like "Whatever" :P
@Blascogeno Actually you are wrong you fuckwit, whoever you are, look in a mirror and you will see a bigger idiot ...
Yes Dokujin, shut out the tree of knowledge because it isn't in your language.
Go back to singing nursery rhymes.
