I love the fact that Joe is such a geek. He comes across as this ice cool guy on stage but as soon as you get him talking about gear.....wow! Such a nerd. It's brilliant.
Tinman thought the same thing! I even wanted to buy that epi but seeing as Joe never uses it, I brushed it off. Joe wouldn't be caught dead playing an epiphone - even if it's his signature model. Sad.
Because the Hamer is a supreme. he is showing off. It's a 3 digit to boot and he has 2 of them. I know people that would give a lower limb for one of those.
Hey Joe, I used to own 9-1952, sold it to Norm in 1984, I've loaded photos of it on Burstserial.com, as far as I know it hasn't resurfaced, maybe Norm still has it.
The market for vintage guitars took a temporary nosedive in the early 80's, and finding buyers for the high dollar premium stuff, pre-internet was difficult, Norm paid 8K cash for it in 84', which I was very happy with.
HAPPY 420!!! Just watched DEAN Glastonbury 1971 TERRY REID PLAYING TERRY REID!!!! THANKS BESTIE ESTIE ESTIE ESTIE ESTIE ESTIE ESTIE MUSICAL SOULMATE!!!! Love DEAN ROAD even More now!!!! XXXXXXOOOOOOXXXXOO INFINITY!!!!
Guitar junky note : ALL the Fenders used here are maple necked ASH BODy hardtails (teles are hardtails)!!! Even his dual '63s are Blondes which means ASH bodies - I'm sensing a possible clue here...
thats not very nice talking about the handycap but from other replys you have done your not a very nice guy trans or what ever you may be and yes i know i caint spell o well at least i am not gay o short reply fuck you
"Hamer" pronounced "haymer". And the reason is probably because a rejected Hamer to be cut up was the quality of the best Gibson ever made. Every guitar they made in the USA is better quality that any Gibson I've played. I've played a '59 paul and a MAX copy (I own a MAX still). Yawn.... Had I known that silly piece of would would be worth 1million times more that the quality suggests, I'm sure I would have bought it. Still would have got the Hamer because it plays, sounds and was built...BETTER. And of course, that is only IMO. Play a '59 and tell me what you think.
I don't know why people say that he plays with very high action. Those Gipsons at least have absolutely normal action some very low action especially that one with his name on the fretboard. I know what that dude from Stewmac said but who knows what he measured that day.
Joe sez the 1961 ES-335 w/the BLOCK In-Lays can not be a 1961, because the BLOCKS did not come into production until 1962. BUT, and Joe should know this, a Dealer or Buyer could call GIBSON and request that GIBSON make a guitar with whatever the person wanted on the Guitar. That practice of 'Any way you want it...' ended, sadly, sometime around the end of the 1970's- early '80s
I have witnessed some of the JB meltdowns online, in person. However, he wasnt wrong, and most guitar forums are full of contrary dickheads, and cork sniffers. I no longer participate on any of them, for that reason. Joe has been a gentleman with me, and love his thoughts on why he does what he does.
I always enjoy videos like this. Particularly when there are some interesting stories behind some of the gear. Why does the interviewer look so bloody bored? Honestly looks like he doesn't want to be there.
Would have been nice if Joe actually showed the guitars TO THE CAMERA!!! Good Lord! Every guitar he pulls out, he immediately twists so it's facing up towards the ceiling...….we see NOTHING!
Not to take away anything from Joe B. (I admired his playing, and I still do since he was a "Little Joe") but, WHY.T.F. anyone would use a million guitars for one gig is beyond me (and my "little brain" if anyone wonders "WHY" Lol...) To make it short: There is some discrepancy between my "image of Joe" and the "real one, off camera Joe". Thanks a million to those who wrote about their "face to face" encounters with J.B. and his "none persona" image off the camera. My guts are sensing something "fishy" here. Come on "Little Joe", be the man and tell us the real story about yourself. No "off the camera" B.S. this time, PLEASE (!!!!!)
Nothing like a worn vintage instrument.. Sadly (IMO) ...Modern guitars and their poly finish will never look worn like those.. I have a 1992 SRV Strat that still looks new despite all the years of playing.
D T...…2 million? He has a whole bunch of '59 LP's worth almost 1/2million each! The guy has HUNDREDS of guitars and most all of them are vintage. Millions man...….he has millions upon millions in guitars and amps.
We all take licks from each other. I can tell you that Eric and Joe are best of freinds! Eric has stated that it's an honor when artists like Joe play his licks. Eric plays a few of Joe's also BTW. Also I have seen Joe give Eric credit for these licks borrowed many times.
I can't stand Bonamassa. I'm glad he's out there being this type of guy and player. I love watching his video's and just being annoyed. can't stand the guy. Good video
No no, I'm annoyed. I like the video and the interviewer. I like the information. I just can't stand joe and I get annoyed with him. I love to hate him. That's what I was saying
Zero Nothing why? Plus your statement is all over the place. You love it but, he’s annoying. What? He may be a jerk but what facts do you have. There are a lot of jerks out there that think they’re great. I’m not going to name one little guy who calls himself #guitargod. It’s not Joe.
I just don't get the jerk part though, because he is confident about his guitar playing ? Who wouldn't be if they could play like that, and he had to work hard for it, he deserves the succes, even more so because he playes a not so popular genre.
MrShadowofthewind part of the reason he plays in a genre that is “not so popular” is because it is players like him who are a virtuoso but have no original or creative licks to add and take no chances artistically. People hate to admit it by the truth is Jack White has inspired young people to pick up a guitar way beyond what Bonamassa has inspired, and that pisses middle aged white guys off to no end.
What a waste of a video!! The cameraman is on he side so all we see is the side of the guitars!! Joe brings out the "SkinnerBUrst" and we don't even get to see it!!
FUNERAL BILL II......Yep, I said the same thing! Very frustrating as we got to see NOTHING! He takes them out and immediately turns them up towards the ceiling. Thanks Joe!
I bought a lot of new gear recently , I have to say you do get what you pay for , I have a much better sound now which in turn has improved my playing and performance
I love the fact that Joe is such a geek. He comes across as this ice cool guy on stage but as soon as you get him talking about gear.....wow! Such a nerd. It's brilliant.
Joe is a good sport, taking the time to tell stories explain things
Joe does the best rig rundowns...
Thanks so much for this, I love hearing the stories behind the guitars.
Great stuff!...so nice to see these guitars being used for what they were built for, well done Joe! 👏🏻🌟🎼🎸
Cool idea Guitarpoint...we love to see more Rig Rundowns
So great to see him taking an old Hamer on tour, big fan!
thx joe, sharing means caring
I just love how Joe knows exactly when he bought each guitar and who from.
Thank You Joe
LOve this vid. Had a '75 ht Strat. Not only killer plugged in but acoustic as well.
Why not use his Epiphone Amos signature V rather than the Hamer? That would put a proper stamp of approval on it.
Tinman thought the same thing! I even wanted to buy that epi but seeing as Joe never uses it, I brushed it off. Joe wouldn't be caught dead playing an epiphone - even if it's his signature model. Sad.
He did tour with his epi firebird last yeat. I bought the Korina V and like it a lot. Would love to see him using on tour, though.
The epiphone amos v didnt come out until after this was shot 😆.
I'm guessing he would have had a prototype epi or early model to play and approve before production started, but most likely the hamer is just better
Because the Hamer is a supreme. he is showing off. It's a 3 digit to boot and he has 2 of them. I know people that would give a lower limb for one of those.
WoW... made the hole tour on his own.. instead of his roady... !! what a hero!!
"It was mint, till I hit the headstock.." 🤣🤣
Just love to see him taking a Hamer on tour!
Hey Joe, I used to own 9-1952, sold it to Norm in 1984, I've loaded photos of it on Burstserial.com, as far as I know it hasn't resurfaced, maybe Norm still has it.

Absolutely !!
People, you've got to tune the springs in those Strats. It really makes a huge difference.
Love the bottle washer strap locks.
It's GONNA BE A JOYYYYOUS DAY!!!
Seymour is from where I am from millville,n.j.
I have a 2004 Hamer like that. Great guitar.
I just like him.
51 Nocaster in Guitar Center “You gotta call me on stuff like this” LOL
Tell us about the chainsaw case on top of the rig Joey..
'55 Strat - "it's a workhorse" :)
HAPPY 420!!! Just watched DEAN Glastonbury 1971 TERRY REID PLAYING TERRY REID!!!! THANKS BESTIE ESTIE ESTIE ESTIE ESTIE ESTIE ESTIE MUSICAL SOULMATE!!!! Love DEAN ROAD even More now!!!! XXXXXXOOOOOOXXXXOO INFINITY!!!!
Fuuuuuuuck... That '55 strat hardtail. I hope Joe knows how lucky he is. I would do anything to have a few minutes with these guitars.
If anyone understands the value of gear - both sound, money and mojo wise it's probably Joe ...
Guitar junky note : ALL the Fenders used here are maple necked ASH BODy hardtails (teles are hardtails)!!! Even his dual '63s are Blondes which means ASH bodies - I'm sensing a possible clue here...
Joe's a class act and a monstrous player with such in depth knowledge of all things guitar. Why is it that i hate him so?
Watching and listening to bonamassa puts me to sleep.
MisterFruitbowl oh did I offend you? You poor little snowflake. Goes back to hugging your mom.
thats what your girl frend or wife told me about you
thats not very nice talking about the handycap but from other replys you have done your not a very nice guy trans or what ever you may be and yes i know i caint spell o well at least i am not gay o short reply fuck you
aww poor you!
There is a spelling mistake on the text on the video
I want one of those back scratchers.
Great rig rundown. Where‘s Ali Neander?
Why didn't you use your new epiphones Korina V instead of Hamer, JB?
"Hamer" pronounced "haymer". And the reason is probably because a rejected Hamer to be cut up was the quality of the best Gibson ever made. Every guitar they made in the USA is better quality that any Gibson I've played. I've played a '59 paul and a MAX copy (I own a MAX still). Yawn.... Still would have got the Hamer because it plays, sounds and was built...BETTER. And of course, that is only IMO. Play a '59 and tell me what you think.
how does he keep all his stuff safe while touring?
Ironically someone that can afford to buy vintage gear can also afford to hire security and have them stay there.
I don't know why people say that he plays with very high action. Those Gipsons at least have absolutely normal action some very low action especially that one with his name on the fretboard. I know what that dude from Stewmac said but who knows what he measured that day.
Does anyone know why first show in Tempodrom was so poor sound? Disturbing echos when all mics where under load. So disappointing..
Joe's such a guitar tragic, just loves em,, me too.
Yaaaay a Rig Rundown by Guitarpointsound! The new Premier Guitar competitors, eh?
Well...now I know who will buy my strat after some years :)
Joe is becoming a Modern Blues Legend who in time will be compared to BB King and Eric Clapton and ....
Trevor Graham Welch 😅😂😂 Good one!!!!!
Already is. I enjoy Joe more than those other guitarists honestly.
Joe sez the 1961 ES-335 w/the BLOCK In-Lays can not be a 1961, because the BLOCKS did not come into production until 1962. 1951 skinner burst? I thought it was a 59' so they made a flame top in 50/51? Maybe the serial number I guess
Yes..serial # ...first LP's came out 1952..the bursts showed up in 1958..
1951 is the last 4 digits of the serial. The Skinner Burst is a '59.
Love Joe. To say the interviewer was supposed to be "into it". He didn't seem that "into it"....
I have witnessed some of the JB meltdowns online, in person. However, he wasnt wrong, and most guitar forums are full of contrary dickheads, and cork sniffers. I no longer participate on any of them, for that reason. Joe has been a gentleman with me, and love his thoughts on why he does what he does.
those hardtails are the bees knees
No pedals Joe?
I always enjoy videos like this. Particularly when there are some interesting stories behind some of the gear. Why does the interviewer look so bloody bored? Honestly looks like he doesn't want to be there.
I think he's German? he can't help it.....
If i could have one of these guitars ... just one
Where’s his pedal board
Rig RunDWON
Don't be shy about playing! (… might be a liiiiiittle intimidated playing in Joe's presence though)
That's guitar porn at it's best and I love it
I agree that old guitar's should be played hard!!!
If you don't play them they die!!
I prefer a hardtail strat over any other guitar
Tinman, I was about to type in that same comment..
was mint till i hit the headstock just now
Would have been nice if Joe actually showed the guitars TO THE CAMERA!!! Good Lord! Every guitar he pulls out, he immediately twists so it's facing up towards the ceiling...….we see NOTHING!
The guy interviewing Joe does not seem very interested in his guitars.
Not to take away anything from Joe B. (I admired his playing, and I still do since he was a "Little Joe") but, WHY.T.F. anyone would use a million guitars for one gig is beyond me (and my "little brain" if anyone wonders "WHY" Lol...) Vintage guitars need regular applications of human sweat and DNA, otherwise they turn to sawdust.
That beeping ruin the video.
People are so spoiled nowadays, don't you think ; )
DerEchteBold do it right the first time
?
DerEchteBold listen before you type
It's not that bad at all, you're a spoiled little brat is what I'm saying!
Nothing like a worn vintage instrument.. Sadly (IMO) ...Modern guitars and their poly finish will never look worn like those.. I have a 1992 SRV Strat that still looks new despite all the years of playing.
Joe's 2 gibson flying Vs are worth 250,000k each. He must have at least 2 million in guitars.
he has multi millions in amps and guitars
D T...…2 million? He has a whole bunch of '59 LP's worth almost 1/2million each! The guy has HUNDREDS of guitars and most all of them are vintage. Millions man...….he has millions upon millions in guitars and amps.
So he didn't borrow the beast
from Bernie.
noelzhu1986 I think he only uses the beast when he is England?
Did Joe steal all those guitars from Eric Johnson, because he certainly stole all his licks.
If he would spend some time trying to write just one good song instead of buying and selling equipment...
Too bad he does not play in a good band.
We all take licks from each other. I can tell you that Eric and Joe are best of freinds! Eric has stated that it's an honor when artists like Joe play his licks. Eric plays a few of Joe's also BTW. Also I have seen Joe give Eric credit for these licks borrowed many times.
Yea, that's why he's famous and tours the world..cause he's no good.
dumb ass
I can't stand Bonamassa. I'm glad he's out there being this type of guy and player. I love watching his video's and just being annoyed. can't stand the guy. Good video
Zero Nothing Did we watch the same video ? When is he annoyed ?!

FUNERAL BILL II......Yep, I said the same thing! Very frustrating as we got to see NOTHING! He takes them out and immediately turns them up towards the ceiling. Thanks Joe!
Do you think Joe ever gets tired of this shit?
Gear snobs. Lol
PLAY THE HECK OUT OF YOUR GUITAR!!!!
I bought a lot of new gear recently , I have to say you do get what you pay for , I have a much better sound now which in turn has improved my playing and performance
