You can wirelessly update these buds. I have updated them, & there are some noticeable upgrades. I was skeptical updating them because it's the official app translated by someone to English. After updating, it does seem that the sound quality is quite a bit better & the Bass is Significantly improved. Also sounds like they get a bit Louder, & the double tap to play/pause acts faster. Hopefully there's a future update to add more controls to the taps on the buds. As mentioned in the video, Zero lag when watching videos. Compared to the Airpods, the case is almost the same size, but actually stands up which is a big plus, USB C, Wireless Charging, lights to indicate battery percentage, better sound & almost every other feature the Airpods have including - pausing when removing a bud.

I heard that the app is used for firmware updates and it makes them sound much better then out of the box. Idn if you can rebind the gestures but I will let you know.

They are real. You won't find them on the Huawei site except for the Chinese site as they are not officially available outside of China. I purchased mine and imported them. If you want to see them on the Huawei site then go to their Chinese site and use Google translate and you'll be able to find them there.

I've been using them at work for the last couple of weeks and the battery life I've been getting has been around 3 hours of music play time, although I usually have the volume at around 30% since I get headaches if the volume is too high. Max volume is probably right around that 2.5 hour mark. I can't speak about calling yet as I've yet to use them for that. I mostly use them for videos and music listening. Airpods are really good. Galaxy buds are good too from what I've heard, although I haven't used those myself yet, some of my co-workers have the Galaxy buds and say they are solid for phone calls.

While I don't have any fancy sound equipment to give you a decibel reading of how loud they can get, while I wear these at work with volume at around 75%, I can't hear my coworkers talking to me in a normal speaking voice who sit right next to me. While your mileage may vary, my ears start to hurt if I leave them on max volume for too long. Sorry I can't give you a better answer. Hope this helps!

If u like Airpods & have an android, get these. One of the biggest pros with the Airpods compared to almost all other wireless buds is the mic/calls. These do just as good of a job.
Nothing mentioned about fast charging either of these. Listed official spec says 1 hour to charge from completely empty to full. However they do have wireless charging. Thanks for watching!

Think I touched on this briefly in the video but other than the color, the black version (freebuds 2 pro) offer integration with WeChat and alipay for payments in the Chinese market. Since neither of those services are available in the US or most any other markets, unless you really like the black color I'd stick with the white version. The sound, battery life, sound quality, and size are all identical.

Touch gestures seem to always work for me. According to the manual, the only gestures are double tapping the left earbud for your virtual assistant and double tapping the right earbud for play/pause. Unfortunately I don't think they can be remapped, as there is no mention of that in the manual.
I miss the gestures that i do have on my $25 TWS i12 which do great too. However the bass on my Freebuds 2 Pro are better then the TWS i12. However for a 100USD+ headset there should be next, previous song gestures as well as volume up and down. And yes, i know you can use them with voice control, but i dont want to walk on the streets and shouting to my headset.
I can't say for certain since I haven't used a Samsung phone in a few years, however I do know that certain features are software specific to Huawei like quick pairing.

No word yet. They've been available in the Chinese market for awhile. I imported these from China to the USA. With trade tensions and all, I don't know if or when these will ever make their way over to the USA. As for other markets, I'm not entirely sure TBH
They will never be sold officially outside of China because Huawei would get big Copyright Problems from Apple. Thats why they first announced them but never sold them in the US or Europe. So we can say that 100% sure that they will never be officialy sold in stores because they resemble to much of the Apple Airpods
