Your mom is so awesome for being so supportive of your hobbie/career/life. It really is a beautiful place you are in. I wish someday you can get a similar property to live and work on.
I always tack up and groom with a hay net-they are so engrossed they are amazed when they are ready to go.I love your voluntary learn to halter by getting hay or treats to dip their nose in. From my farm life I am always inventing the most kind apparent conservative safe ways to train horrses and run the farm .Like you.Deb Love your Mom I am a teacher too
The skyline is beautiful and add horses to it 😍🥰🐴
I really love your Harlow videos Shelby!! I have an Irish OTTB as well and am trying to get him re-started under saddle this year using R+. Your patreon videos have been really helpful and inspiring for being more patient in training. I'm a full believer in going slow to go "fast" with horses. Though I don't know why everyone wants to go "fast" in the first place, like what are we rushing things for? I don't know about others but I have no desire to be riding a stressed out, time bomb of a horse when you can use research-based training that keep both yourself and your horse safer. I think where most people go astray is in being under the influence or peer pressure of a trainer/peers, etc.I've had people who know nothing of horses ask why it's taking so long for me to get riding him. It used to bother me but you begin to realize most talk in general is shallow and no one has the right to judge your situation, let alone when it comes to another living creature with particular needs. They know nothing of the time it takes for them to come-down off the track, the ulcers we had to treat, and basically the mental health you have to restructure after such a stressful life. I almost think it's healthier to get into horses organically so that you have a clean slate to learn from rather than having to rewire what you've accumulated from very high-pressure, dominant, competitive based barns/people. Luckily I realized very early on that no high pressure negative-reinforcement trainers will suit my own Ottb, or else things could have become way worse. Not to mention my horse actually wants to spend time with me now! :)
I live for you snarkily gentle parenting Banksy 😂😂
Harlow is a lovely moving mare and really nice type . You have done well with her
Oh cool, never noticed Harlow's skunk tail lol
I need to use this on my black horse he is very spooky ❤ thanks for this
So well trained. I love it❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks for the code!
Cute horse and you handle her well, the nose band slides a lil tho, reins seemed higher on one side than the other
Yes, she needs a different size, it was her first time wearing it.
Harlow is a rabicano??? You gotta show a good picture of that when it's summer again! I learned of rabicanos from the game Rival Stars: Horse Racing. There are times when games are educational lol
And if I've learned that about Harlow before, I have forgotten. I am a bit forgetful sometimes.
I wish I were there!! You guys are so cool. Kiss them all for me. Pogo is adorable. 💕
You have to come visit sometime, I think you’d love it here!

3:38 what’s the name of the boots ur wearing at this timestamp? How r they holding up to full time use? Thanks
they’re Fairfax and Favour shearling lined winter boots, I’ve had them a few years now and love them
Can I ask what the purpose of the bounce pad is? It looks like a gel pad so I’m curious.
Do you recommend lunging ottb’s before riding? :)
Wouldn’t it be kinda counterproductive to work a nervous horse so far from the herd
She’s not that far from the herd and she also isn’t herdbound. There isn’t really anywhere else to work them here, so I do what I can.
Nice Winter riding boots!! Are Fairfax&favor boots?
Yes they are, I love them
How do you teach tactile cues/what cues do you use when riding?
If you go back to some of the videos of me, starting Banksy under saddle, I show how I do it a little bit there. Otherwise, I have more in-depth tutorials on my Patreon.
@@Milestone-Equestrian thank you
Who is the black horse?
I think a boarder? A friend's horse?
A boarder
That poor Thoroughbred. I'm so glad you weren't using this video to "teach" anything. There's so much wrong going on in this video it's ridiculous. Stick to just sharing videos of enjoying horses. Btw, you might want to look into why your horses keep eating straw when they have hay available 😉
What's your critique? I'm curious.
