A LOT of you have been asking me to talk about this so I finally caved and did it. I absolutely loved working with Netflix and I can't express in words how grateful I am that they took a chance on me and gave me 2 season of my own Netflix Original Series. It was a total dream come true! The weird stuff that happened with Customer Service was a bizarre fluke that only happened for a few days and then Netflix worked really hard to resolve the issue. I have no beef or drama with Netflix. Only gratitude. Hope I cleared the air for you all! I can't wait for you all to see the projects I'm planning on in 2018! Love you so much! Oh this seriously bums me out. Me and my daughter just binge watched 2 seasons. I came here to find out when season 3 starts 😭. And you're allowed to cry! This makes me so sad. Haters back off was one of my favourite shows, and I've been following Miranda and Colleen's journey for so long. At the end of season 2 I was so freaking excited to see more, it was such a cliffhanger. But there was always this feeling deep in guts, that there wouldn't be another season. So when I heard the news, I was like "I knew that already". And I'm truly, deeply sad and disappointed.. I'm still gonna rewatch the show over, and over again.

As an actor I’ve cried at the end of run of a show that I didn’t write, I can’t imagine the abrupt end of something that I did write. Much love to you Colleen! Glad to know you are grieving well and thanks you for being so inspiring!!
11 11Well I did a fair amount of shows in College, and some community theatre since then. I’m sure there are way mor qualified people than me to answer your question, but I would say just get started. Do your research, go to a TON of auditions. Seriously audition for everything. You will always learn something from a part even if it isn’t one you had in mind and especially if it is a character that isn’t like you at all. Also remember that good acting is REacting. Be in the moment. If you’re thinking about how you look or how you’re going to say your next line you aren’t focused on your scene or your fellow actors and it will show. I recommend The Actor and the Target by Declan Donnellan and Audition by Michael Shurtleff.

I totally understand the way you feel. As a theater performer, every time I put on a show, the characters and the story get absorbed into your soul. Even on closing night, when you know you aren’t going to get to work with the same people ever again, it still feels like someone smashing a hammer through your heart. I know that you think you sound crazy, but everything you described sounds exactly like live theater. Love you much ❤️❤️
I literally just want to give you a hug. I’m not going to say I understand because I don’t. But I have been through similar experiences. I do musical theater at my school and there have been shows that I have been in where I just fall in love with all of the characters and all of the people I am in the show with. And when it’s over I feel heartbroken. It sucks. Colleen, you are so incredibly talented. I have been watching your channels for forever. I have seen you grow in such a fantastic way. You aren’t done here Hunty. You have so many great and wonderful things ahead of you. Always remember that all good things must come to an end. Which sucks but unfortunately that’s life. I really do wish that netflix made the season 3 as its oddly empowering in a comical sense. I have suffered from chronic depression since i was 5 years old. I felt hopeless and that everyone just wanted to tear me down no matter if i was good or bad at something. Haters back off may just be a comedy for some but for others it basically empowers us to be proud of ourself no matter the situation you are in. I sincerly want to thank you for all the episodes as it helped me to start standing up for myself and it got me laughing again. So i completely understand how crushing it is to not be able to have that season 3 as in a way it is your baby. Its apart of you and what you have been through. In fact in some ways many have gone through. Thank you so much for your work :)
The tears are SO relatable for theatre people! When a show I'm in ends, all I do is cry! You have always been the one that has inspired me to pursue a career in comedy. A scary place for women! Just finished binge watching both seasons and I can honestly say that Haters Back Off is one of my favorite shows ever. Don't worry about it getting canceled you definitely made the most out of having your own show and you made your fans proud !!!

This isn't crazy. As an actress and creator myself I completely understand where your coming from and I feel your pain in letting these characters and this storyline go. It's so hard putting your heart and soul into something.. seeing it finally come to life and then having to say goodbye. I've worked on characters for two years for example, when I finally finished filming and I had to let the characters go I cried my eyes out for weeks. I felt like apart of myself was missing and I didn't know what to do with myself. It sounds weird but it felt like someone had died. So I completely understand you. It's not something you can explain unless you experience it. I was so sad when I found out Haters Back Off wasn't getting a third season. I really will miss seeing the lives of these characters. I feel Netflix made a mistake on not taking it on for a third season. But I don't think you should give up. Take these characters and film your own web series... continue with the story. I commented half way through watching the video so I guess my web series comment is probably not relevant as I just got to the part where you said you can't do it.. it's not that easy and there's a lot of legal things behind it. I'm a theater kid myself and at the end of every show people graduate that have become family members to me, some of which helped me recover from some serious trouble mentally. I really feel for Colleen😢
I understand Netflix for not continuing the show, what I don’t understand is why they just cancel it. In my opinion they should have either told her after the ending of season 1 or just one last season. Ending the show in a cliffhanger they should have given her an opportunity to tell everything she had to since she won’t be able to after Netflix owns her story. Just my opinion.
Netflix did the same to Sense 8 (before they gave in to a special finale because fans kept bugging them). Unfortunately that's just how TV works and creators take that risk when making it.
I understand the show wasn’t getting enough views, but what I don’t get is why they do it without warning. They could have told her ending season one “hey we are only giving you one last season so end it up”. Instead they dumped it in the middle of a cliffhanger leaving us with too many questions.

I don't think it was very profitable, because it seems that not enough people watched the show. I honestly didn't like season 1 very much, but I quickly fell in love with season 2. I think she should do a video explaining what was supposed to happen and then let the show Rest In Peace. All though we all want it we all know it’s unrealistic that she will find a way to continue the show or make a movie and frankly that’s won’t work.

Colleen, what you were saying about the characters is by no means crazy. It totally makes sense and I can understand why it's so emotional for you-- being in a room with those characters, they were brought to life and you got to interact with them and watch as they told the story.
It IS relatable! I totally understand how you feel, and I feel it all the time! When I do plays, I ALWAYS cry afterwards because I know that I wont be able to be that character and interact with the other characters that were like family members to me. That isnt possible, because netflix owns the entire storyline and acting it out and distributing it as her own show would violate both the actors’ and netflix’s contracts.

Haters back off was one of the funniest shows I've watched on Netflix. I watched it in five days. It make me laugh so hard & I thank you for that. I would have loved a season 3, Netflix really screwed up on not making a season 3 in my opinion....
I feel like Season 2 is just the best ending. Bc it already tells us everything about Miranda's backstory and that's the whole point of the show. Also we already knows what happens next bc we can see the conclusion on Miranda's videos.
As a writer I get the love of your characters you've lived with and shared, when they don't get to keep living their lives, it changes yours. The finales for both of the seasons were so jarring and incredible; the way the rug was pulled out from under me when just the darker and saddening reality of loneliness and rejection hit. Man. My heart is broken too. Miranda is so much more than a funny character. She represents so many of the underdogs in our society. Miranda’s character gave hope to the people that do not fit societies mold of a “normal person.” The dark humor was funny, heart warming and heart breaking as well as all too relatable. I love your creativity. I am so hopeful that you get to let this story keep on
Ok I understand if you're new to this youtuber, but don't bash her immediately. That's rude. Her character was built like that, and if you watched the show, you would've seen the amazing character development that occurs in each character. Don't judge what you don't understand.

It must be the worst feeling in the world as a creator to have your story cut off in the middle of telling it. You put your whole heart into this, and you don't have to justify why it hurts -- any creator would understand. I know that it's a creator's worst nightmare to be stifled like that, and especially when there's nothing you can do about it. I am so glad you were given the opportunity of 2 seasons, but I also absolutely understand the pain and frustration of being cut off. I know that you know that things happen for a reason, and I think maybe a third season was never what was meant for you. Your trajectory might not look exactly like you thought it would, but ultimately this will lead you to where you were meant to go. Your career still has so many exciting twist and turns that you haven't even conceived of yet, and one day this won't seem like a failure, but a necessary launching point for the amazing things that were to come. 11 11Well I did a fair amount of shows in College, and some community theatre since then. I’m sure there are way mor qualified people than me to answer your question, but I would say just get started. Do your research, go to a TON of auditions. Seriously audition for everything. You will always learn something from a part even if it isn’t one you had in mind and especially if it is a character that isn’t like you at all.
Also remember that good acting is REacting. Be in the moment. If you’re thinking about how you look or how you’re going to say your next line you aren’t focused on your scene or your fellow actors and it will show.
I recommend The Actor and the Target by Declan Donnellan and Audition by Michael Shurtleff.

I totally understand the way you feel. As a theater performer, every time I put on a show, the characters and the story get absorbed into your soul. Even on closing night, when you know you aren’t going to get to work with the same people ever again, it still feels like someone smashing a hammer through your heart. I know that you think you sound crazy, but everything you described sounds exactly like live theater. Love you much ❤️❤️

I literally just want to give you a hug. I’m not going to say I understand because I don’t. But I have been through similar experiences. I do musical theater at my school and there have been shows that I have been in where I just fall in love with all of the characters and all of the people I am in the show with. And when it’s over I feel heartbroken. It sucks. Colleen, you are so incredibly talented. I have been watching your channels for forever. I have seen you grow in such a fantastic way. I really do wish that netflix made the season 3 as its oddly empowering in a comical sense. I have suffered from chronic depression since i was 5 years old. I felt hopeless and that everyone just wanted to tear me down no matter if i was good or bad at something. Haters back off may just be a comedy for some but for others it basically empowers us to be proud of ourself no matter the situation you are in. I sincerly want to thank you for all the episodes as it helped me to start standing up for myself and it got me laughing again. So i completely understand how crushing it is to not be able to have that season 3 as in a way it is your baby. Its apart of you and what you have been through. In fact in some ways many have gone through. Thank you so much for your work :)

This isn't crazy. As an actress and creator myself I completely understand where your coming from and I feel your pain in letting these characters and this storyline go. It's so hard putting your heart and soul into something.. seeing it finally come to life and then having to say goodbye. I've worked on characters for two years for example, when I finally finished filming and I had to let the characters go I cried my eyes out for weeks. I felt like apart of myself was missing and I didn't know what to do with myself. It sounds weird but it felt like someone had died. So I completely understand you. It's not something you can explain unless you experience it. I was so sad when I found out Haters Back Off wasn't getting a third season. I really will miss seeing the lives of these characters. I feel Netflix made a mistake on not taking it on for a third season. But I don't think you should give up. Take these characters and film your own web series... continue with the story. Don't let anything stop you! Xoxoxox

I understand Netflix for not continuing the show, what I don’t understand is why they just cancel it. In my opinion they should have either told her after the ending of season 1 or just one last season. Ending the show in a cliffhanger they should have given her an opportunity to tell everything she had to since she won’t be able to after Netflix owns her story. Just my opinion.

It's not because we all love the show here that they should continue producing it. Colleen's community is huge, but I think the reason why it was cancelled is purely marketing. I don't think it was very profitable, because it seems that not enough people watched the show.
I honestly didn't like season 1 very much, but I quickly fell in love with season 2. I guess the season 1 wasn't very entertaining.

Colleen, what you were saying about the characters is by no means crazy. It totally makes sense and I can understand why it's so emotional for you-- being in a room with those characters, they were brought to life and you got to interact with them and watch as they told the story.

When I do plays, I ALWAYS cry afterwards because I know that I wont be able to be that character and interact with the other characters that were like family members to me. Hey Colleen, what you are maybe able to do is: put some stuff of your ideas for the season 3 in your tour shows. You can ask if some of the cast want to tour with and play some parts. We would love it :)
That isnt possible, because netflix owns the entire storyline and acting it out and distributing it as her own show would violate both the actors’ and netflix’s contracts.

You did a great job of taking us into the head space and universe of Miranda.
The finales for both of the seasons were so jarring and incredible; the way the rug was pulled out from under me when just the darker and saddening reality of loneliness and rejection hit. Man. So good.
And the score by Amotz Plessnor really brought it together. Got some serious Eternal Sunshine and Amelie vibes there.

I wish there was a season 3 too, but I’m just so happy that your dreams come true and that I was able to watch the two seasons of haters back off. It just makes me so happy to hear how happy it has made you. I’m so proud of all the work you put into it and I can’t believe how far you’ve become! I’ve been watching both Miranda’s and your Chanel since 2009 (when I was just 8 years old)I remember seeing the bad romance and California gurls video on Miranda’s Chanel and the toddlers and tiaras with you and kory on your psychosoprano Chanel. I right away was a huge fan and thought you were hilarious and brilliant! I can’t believe I’m almost 17 and you are still making me cry laughing with every video you post! And your show was amazing, I went to your show in Toronto 2013. I seriously love you so much! Thank you for making my crappy days so much better by making me laugh through these years

My heart is broken too. Miranda is so much more than a funny character. She represents so many of the underdogs in our society. Miranda’s character gave hope to the people that do not fit societies mold of a “normal person.” The dark humor was funny, heart warming and heart breaking as well as all too relatable. I love your creativity. I am so hopeful that you get to let this story keep on
Ok I understand if you're new to this youtuber, but don't bash her immediately. That's rude. Her character was built like that, and if you watched the show, you would've seen the amazing character development that occurs in each character. Don't judge what you don't understand.

Girl... I 110% understand those tears. I get so involved into my shows that I *just* watch that I cry when seasons or characters end. And I cry when there is a show cancellation. I can't imagine how heartbreaking it is on the opposite end. You are an amazing woman. Dont let this stop you from your other dreams. :)

It must be the worst feeling in the world as a creator to have your story cut off in the middle of telling it. You put your whole heart into this, and you don't have to justify why it hurts -- any creator would understand. I know that it's a creator's worst nightmare to be stifled like that, and especially when there's nothing you can do about it. I am so glad you were given the opportunity of 2 seasons, but I also absolutely understand the pain and frustration of being cut off. I know that you know that things happen for a reason, and I think maybe a third season was never what was meant for you. Your trajectory might not look exactly like you thought it would, but ultimately this will lead you to where you were meant to go. Your career still has so many exciting twist and turns that you haven't even conceived of yet, and one day this won't seem like a failure, but a necessary launching point for the amazing things that were to come. Don't forget that as long as you maintain the integrity of your heart and soul, all the rest is taken care of, and you are exactly where you need to be.
