  • Thanks for watching. Today we are looking at the Dual Stage Humidity Controller by Inkbird. This unit (IHC 200) is simple, affordable, and reliable. I have 2 units and both have worked for me very well for the past 2 years (continuous use). And that's saying a lot as my Auber controller had an issue with the relay and my Johnson controller just stopped working all of a sudden. This inexpensive unit has outlast all of them and I really put mine through hell!!
If you want more info on the Inkbird Humidity Controller you can check it out at amazon here:

These are my settings in my salami drying chamber:
    HS: 85
    HD: 3
    DD: 3
    AH: 100
    AL: 50
    PT: 0
CA: ??? (this is whatever you need it to be if you have to calibrate your unit
When I am using this in my fermentation chamber the only thing I change is the HS. I raise it to 90%.

I plan to use this to control old non-electronic dehumidifiers (like old Kenmores) and also new electronically controlled ones where the electronics has gone haywire so I'll control the compressor/fan directly with this controller (cheaper than electronic repair or getting another dehumidifier.) Looks like a great unit especially since can replace the sensor.

I can recommend after almost 3 years of familiarity with inkbird itc-200, so it is very important to turn the sensor so that the caves face forward, as far away from a surface as possible, that can hold at a different temperature than there is in, the air.
Then inkbird itc-200 may prove wrong in these cases.
Calibration in the same way, with the sensor away from a surface as possible.
    Best Regards. Frank Ingemann Knudsen.

Great Video! Explained super well! However, I have an issue with my meters. Whenever they are in ambient air, 2 of them are 1% off from each other and a 3rd meter is 5 & 6% off from those. Weirdly enough, when I put them all in an airtight plastic container with the salt (even with insulation below container to not affect the temp from table) all 3 meters show the exact same number - 77%. Any ideas why this would be happening?

I'm using this with a dehumidifier that has a compressor. When the inkbird reaches target humidity, it cuts off power to the dehumidifier. I have the delay protection value set to 3, since the dehumidifier has a 3 minute delay on the compressor. What I noticed actually happens is after the 3 minute time frame I have set for the delay protection value passes, the inkbird turns on the dehumidifier but only the fan runs, not the compressor. The compressor won't start up until 3 minutes from this point. Any ideas on how I can get the compressor to turn on where the fan won't run on its own and I'm not waiting an extended amount of time?

Great clip thank you! I found the humidity probe to be very slow ... The device is fairly accurate when humidity is increasing. But very slow to detect when humidity is dropping. To test this I took my tent to 98% before it shuts down my humidifier (8x8 tent). I exhausted the tent quickly once humidity hit 98% and but the device took roughly 8 minutes before it detected the sudden change in humidity. I have a separate humidity probe for my exhaust fan, which detects the change in humidity a lot quicker, so I was able to compare. Have you seen this to be a problem?
