Recently discorvered Sleep Token, and as a metal fan, I also love listenibg to other genders, such as pop, trap and hip hop and melodic songs, sleep token is the perfect mix of my fav genders and I got stuck in this band and its just amazing how they do a great job and I just love it, all of their songs really touch me deep
To me this song is about a broken relationship, the kind where people get back together after a break up thinking it'll be different the second or third time round. It's clear from the start that the same problems that caused the first break up now haunt the relationship. In the first verse the author is very aware that the other doesn't really feel the way that they say they do. He laments that when it ends she won't remember him (his cracking bones, something he believes is unique about him) and he doubts his value. There has been traumatic experiences between the two that are beyond repair and the other person would rather leave and be avoidant than talk through any problems that arise. The chorus is the author asking if they will not talk or be able to reach each other again. He knows that this will be the case. For some reason he applies an angelic ideation on the person, despite their flaws. The second verse describes how their relationship is just an imitation of what it once was, only they can't fake it because she forgets her lines and her act is clear to see. They are so out of sync. She really just uses his love because she has nothing and nobody else. Not because it's vital to her. And momentarily pretending to love helps her forget the agony of being unfulfilled. He realises his love won't matter because he knows she will leave and he will be left longing. And no matter how much he loves her this will happen either way. He knows that this situation needs to end but he's afraid to let go and find something better so instead he's going to wait for the eventual dissolution. Beautiful song.

Thanks. This made me cry at work today. This song came on at 939 this morning. I shortly later found out one of my co workers wife passed away today at 939 this morning. This song caused a great sense of grief, at the same time she drew her last breath. I'll remember her life everytime I hear this from now on. Worship and try as hard as you can to love every minute we get in this short life we have.
I felt this 100000% man. I was almost exclusively listening to traditional metal until I found Sleep Token. One of the best discoveries I've ever made musically. By far one of the most influential bands I've ever had in my life.

This band gives no fucks about genres. Last track was alternative metal, this song is like piano-driven pop. (With a heavy, down tuned guitar outro.) It’s just music. I don’t usually listen to pop sounding stuff, but this is amazing. They make all the genres they use so accessible, not only cuz they use so many of them, but also cuz they make em all sound great. And also cuz of those vocals 🔥🔥🔥 I look up to fellow singers who sing in a lower register, but still sound amazing and still have soft parts. Cuz they show me that I can also sing well despite the fact that I don’t have one of those super high register voices that are so sought after as well as celebrated in today’s music

I have a weird take on this amazing song. My family has dealt with addiction for as long as I can remember. So when he says will you levitate my brain goes to those family members getting high, and how some of us tried so hard to be there for them. To be there to lift them back up essentially, and how some take it for granted, or dont care the pain it caused those that helped. It also reminds me of watching a friend you care deeply for go through addiction. This song is so amazing.

And there is a lot about *forgetting*. I think it may be about struggling with a loved one with dementia...Hoping they are not forgetting, and memories and people not lost into obscurity. This band gives no fucks about genres. Last track was alternative metal, this song is like piano-driven pop. (With a heavy, down tuned guitar outro.) It’s just music. I don’t usually listen to pop sounding stuff, but this is amazing. They make all the genres they use so accessible, not only cuz they use so many of them, but also cuz they make em all sound great. And also cuz of those vocals 🔥🔥🔥 I look up to fellow singers who sing in a lower register, but still sound amazing and still have soft parts. Cuz they show me that I can also sing well despite the fact that I don’t have one of those super high register voices that are so sought after as well as celebrated in today’s music

God damn you Sleep Token! Gah!! Stumbled across this song yesterday, heard it for the first time and you FINALLY GOT ME. I cried and may have rolled up in a fetal position for a good long minute. I’m a newer fan, I’ve gotten through most of your songs on all 3 albums and they have been the majority of what makes up my playlist that I listen to daily. Right now I’m just picking up the stragglers I’ve missed like Descending, Love you Want and Levitate just to name a few. Am I moved on an emotional level already with your music? Heck yeah I have had a few moments of having that “hell yeah,” sort of feeling you get when it’s a good song. It may involve some head banging, but only my cat can confirm that. Am I going to show it on my face that my emotions are being pricked? HELL NO. Not me, the audhd Aquarius that I am, I would dare not be so “cliche’?” No way! You got enough fans! But Levitate has finally broke me. Now I got go follow all things social media and Sleep Token, THANKS FOR THAT!! But seriously, I just can’t with you guys. I’m way too old to be fangirling the way I’m fangirling. EVERY SONG is awesome and I’m in awe. I can confirm I will be in a constant state of maladaptive daydreaming and dissociating to you as much as I can get away with it. I have a weird take on this amazing song. My family has dealt with addiction for as long as I can remember. So when he says will you levitate my brain goes to those family members getting high, and how some of us tried so hard to be there for them. To be there to lift them back up essentially, and how some take it for granted, or dont care the pain it caused those that helped. It also reminds me of watching a friend you care deeply for go through addiction. This song is so amazing.
