You're the first one, after months of binge watching these preps before and after videos have said the reason why patient must lay on back only; for circulation reasons. I assumed it was not to disturb the stitches. The "don't do afterwards" are many. Hardest for me is giving up my morning joe and not being able to sleep on my sides. 😥
This is kind of interesting to me because my surgeon says no smoking six weeks before surgery or he won’t do the operation and absolutely no smoking for three weeks after the surgery. He wants you to wait to shower four or five days after surgery and absolutely no alcohol six weeks before and three weeks after surgery. As far as bruising, there is no bruising at all on your face because he takes nine hours to do your surgery. He ties off all the blood vessels, so you have no bruising at all. He also doesn’t put you under general anesthesia because it’s not good for you because he takes nine hours to do the surgery versus three or four hours like most surgeons. You were in a twilight sleep and stay up all night at night before.
thanks for this. My surgeon has said it will be about 8 hours twilight sedation. Then saw a video about the 3-4 hours. One less concern knowing longer surgery is being proactive in my healing. Have my consult Tuesday.
I loved him speaking and a trust him.I’m 16 today but I will be looking for him at my 60’s
