  • Today I am going to tell you how to make Tsamthuk - A Tibetan traditional Tsampa Thukpa.
Tsamthuk is a simple barley porridge which is enjoyed throughout the Tibet and Himalayan regions.
It is very good and suitable for the cold weather which will helps us to keep our body warm.
On another hand, it is served when people are sick and unable to eat solid food. As of now, it can be enjoyed during the pandemic to keep ourselves more healthy and energetic.

I’m so happy to see you looking well and cooking again! I was worried about you. That is one positive thing with the global internet; we care about each other even though we will almost certainly never meet. Be well.

It's not really eaten here in Western culture anymore, but the tsampa looks very similar to the gruel people ate up until Victorian times--like what Oliver Twist was given in the orphanage. I've had gruel out of curiosity, but never though to try and make a soup out of it! I may give this a try once the weather cools of again.

Please advise which types of noodles can be added to Tsamthuk? I tried the Chinese white flour noodles with Tsampa but it did not work out. Thanks

It is a glutinous meal made from roasted flour, usually barley flour and sometimes also wheat flour. You know, google is your best friend. So is wikipedia...
