Greatly appreciate this tutorial. TH-cam is sorely lacking anything on Khruangbin, I hope it will change soon. As a beginner, I have to ask like, any theory behind this riff (licks?) you noticed while working on it? Like what scale is this even? What key? Can it be transposed to other keys? etc haha I would like to understand Mark's approach but I dont think I understand fully what he is doing.
think its mostly pentatonic minor, just very lyrical phrasing with lots of hammer on and pull offs, use your fingers more, playing shell chords and licks together etc. Also get a wah and a nice reverb, a little crunch, you're good to go. watch his rig rundown here th-cam.com/video/hr7ScpVj1QY/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=PremierGuitar
@@DanielMcKeanMusic adding the backing track to your channel should work just fine, if that works for you. Totally would appreciate that for optimal practice🤘🏼
Thanks a lot! I used a drum loop and I recorded the bass part myself, using my Fender Precision bass, so I worked that out myself. Now, that's a thought - maybe I'll make a video showing how I did the backing track.
I think it's mostly just the bridge pickup, with very light overdrive, and some spring reverb to taste, and pick harder to get the sharper tones for certain parts
Once you've got the guitar part , why not have a go playing over the backing track here? th-cam.com/video/lqbI9EdVK3Y/w-d-xo.html
Waiting for the rest of the tabs thank you so much!
It is coming - I have to redo part 2 unfortunately, but it is coming.
I was so hoping to find a tutorial on this but really expected to find nothing. This is perfect! Thanks!
I'm delighted that it's useful for you.
Very good, very simple, in simplicity there are great things, thank you
Thank you for making this, I’ve been wanting to play this song since it came out! 🙏🏼

That's a good point. I recognise many influences from all over the world in his playing, from the Middle-East to Mexico!

@@DanielMcKeanMusicI would confidently say that he is highly influenced by Turkish music from 70s
Great tutorial and very helpful! Is the video or link to the backing track available by chance?
It isn't available but I will make it available - I think I will add it here, unless you think there is a better platform for backing tracks?

so helpful mate! where did you find the backing track to play over?
Thank you - I actually used a drum loop and then I played the bass part myself on top of the loop
This is awesome dude. How did you do the backing track?

That's a great one to consider! Which other songs are you interested in?

How are you getting this tone?
I think it's mostly just the bridge pickup, with very light overdrive, and some spring reverb to taste, and pick harder to get the sharper tones for certain parts
In Mark's Rig Rundown from a few years ago: bridge pick-up, distortion pedal all the way down, light compression, and then spring reverb at 5.
