I was at this hotel in 2016. The beach is unbelievable. I mean, it was so amazing. I really don't think I can put it in words. The LA carte restaurants were awesome and the buffet was not bad at all. Hope to return soon. God bless Cayo coco
Was just at Hotel Playa Coco. 679 all inclusive...amazing little resort and the food was AMAZING!! I walked through this hotel,,Hotel Playa Coco is right beside it and way nicer
Just to clarify - Diamond Club is not a room type. Any reservation could be upgraded to Diamond Club which gives you certain services and benefits, not a fancier room type.
Please, it would be very informative if you would indicate the month/year you are recording your video. As you give details of your stay it would be good to know time of year. Just my thought. Great info by the way.
Hi. I saw your video from Viva V Samana. How would you say the Melia Costa Rey compares to it?? Looking for a reasonably nice place for not a lot of money just not sure I'm up for the supply shortages in Cuba. Haven't been to Cuba in 10 years.
I watched a few videos from Cuba one think i noticed there's barely to people around on all videos, kind of weird, could you explain that? are you promoting the Hotels to get more people down there? low people would make it hard for them to survive or a all exclusive to have full meal package.
Hi Arnie, thx for conneccting and good observation. The reason it seems like there's few people around is likely two fold. 1. most reviewers like myself will shoot our footage early in the morning so as not to invade people's privacy putting them on camera when they may not want to be especially if we're shooting in the buffets etc. 2. I was in cuba for this video in off season so there will always be less people around and the rates are super cheap. I paid $750 dollars Canadian for my week of Nov 27 - Dec 5th, 2024 and trust me, this hotel was almost full. The reason I do the hotel videos is to promote my channel, I enjoy doing it and it keeps me from getting bored on a trip by getting out and exploring. There is one guy I know for a fact is paid by Sunwing to do hotel reviews and you may have seen his vids (Finding Fish). This is Sunwing's way of raising awareness and getting bums in seats. Hope this helps. Cheers
I , I traveled to Cuba over 30 times for tips yes they will take your loonies or two ones but they will beg other tourists to exchange them the banks and won't take them for exchange for the black markets they will depreciate the value. Instead of giving these nice people the trouble you should tip them less often giving them 5 dollars bills or us money. Or if you tip with loonies at the end of the week offer them to exchange those loonies for dollard bills
you are exactly right---the banks will not accept our coins. Either tip in US $ or Canadian dollars. I always bring at least $50 with me extra, expressly to trade, at the end of my week, for coins. Since they cannot use them, I trade and bring them back home.
Oh yes,---NEVER exchange our money for pesos!!! Pesos are basically worthless to Cubans. Every day inflation makes them worth less and less. Do not waste your time exchanging good money for "bad". They really get no benefit from them.
I usually take 100 US in 1 dollar bills for tipping every time I go and spend my last day exchanging all the loonies and toonies to help out .. See you again in January Cuba ❤
Very thorough review, thank you
Thx for the kind words. Cheers

Costa Rey is on par or better than viva v and there were no real shortages in Cato coco that I saw. Cheers
