Hi! If you want a nice Splash pad in Cuba there is one in Holguin Cuba resort call Gran Muthu Almirante its a 5* resort. There is a family side and and adults side you should have a look it’s beautiful
Great info! Always looking for nice resorts at a decent price! I have been to the Melia Beach and wellness resort which is the adult only counter part to the Melia Caribe you reviewed. It's right next door and is pretty much physically identical to the Caribe. So if anyone liked the Melia Caribe review but prefer an adult only property I highly recommend Melia Beach. I haven't stayed on the Caribe side so can't comment on it but the Adult side was excellent. Reviews for the adult side are better overall than Caribe not sure why that would be? The adults side is a little bit more $ but not a lot. Both have great beach gorgeous grounds awesome pool. I would say if you are staying at either if you like better quality cocktails/name brand alcohol get the level upgrade. If you just drink beer and blender drinks, rum and coke etc. I wouldn't bother getting the upgrade. The level gives you better room location, access to a separate ala carte restaurant for lunch/breakfast and dinner, access to a premium lounge with snacks and premium alcohol and access to a lovely roof top bar with premium alcohol. You also get a separate pool area and beach area. To me the only real benefit is the better drinks and the extra bar and restaurant. The level upgrade is fairly affordable compared to most other resort premium club upgrades. I didn't get it but It was about 200/week/person when I booked. A couple I met at the pool said they were able to upgrade at check-in for $250 USD total for the week for the two of them. If you book here I'd highly recommend a 'beachside' room as they are much closer to the pool/beach and the breakfast lunch buffet. Otherwise it can be a fairly long walk to the pool/beach area (although the trollys are fairly reliable and available). Its about 15-20 min walk from lobby to beach. The 'poolside' rooms (which are nowhere near the pool) are closer to the lobby which is where the dinner buffet and most of the ala cartes are. I'm not brave enough to try Cuba right now but I think Viva V Samana is my next trip! Thanks for your efforts!
The Melia is better because of the splash pad and food but I prefer the Viva V for location, smaller size and it's newer especially when you look at the rooms.
@@PTPhotoGearReviews Yes the rooms at Melia are getting a bit tired. Not terrible but could use a refresh. The pool at Melia looks much nicer. How do the beaches compare?

Were there many insects in the Dominican Reoublic?
How did you feel the Melia compared to Viva V in terms of food and beach?
