This is a huge step for heavy metal back into main stream media. This doesn't mean that metal is as popular as it was again, but it's still highly appreciated seeing this played on the BBC
Slipknot for the superbowl half time show next year.
I read somewhere that apparently metal is currently the biggest growing genre.
They played for Jimmy Kimmel live earlier last year. And KoRn’s played for them god knows how many times
Martyncrockermusic there are more sub-genres in metal than there are in any mainstream genre
It was even a huger step if they played people = shit here

i remember a gig rundown where he talks about that one :D you could DIY it if you know how :D but don't know if fender will make this into a signature (he mainly uses the flat white/black finish) let's hope haha

Yea. I liked it better back then but only when the face paint was good and the mask wasnt fat or wet. However this is a good compromise.

I have a sort of unpopular opinon: I really like slipknot when their stage setup is simple, mainly focused on lights and pyros. Dont get me wrong, I really like their new stage setup. But this feels right, it feels right seeing the stage seem cramped and all the chaos is in 1 spot

I’ve listened to probably all Slipknot shows available on TH-cam, and I have to say that no one does it better than BBC when it comes to recording the live performances. The sound is so good, and the visuals are a perfect fit for the music.
I'm amazed by the sound quality of this video. I have never thought TH-cam live show can have such a great sound.
Who would imagine in 1999 they would be extremely polished and sounding so sharp 21 years later (and older!)? Massive respect.

In intimate spaces like Maida Vale the crowd control the BBC have is absolute. Also consider that filming the band if the audience are as rowdy as they can be will make things much more difficult

I’d imagine since this was done by the BBC those who watched the show live had strict guidelines that had to be followed. However like you said, I couldn’t contain my excitement either!
I imagine as its shot for TV its not like a normal gig probably stopping between songs to do set up which kills the atmosphere.
It’s a tiny TV set with very expensive cameras, they were obviously told to enjoy themselves within reason.

Slipknot is, in my opinion, one of the greatest bands to exist. I mean, just everything about them is amazing. Not just Corey, or Sid, or any single thing. Not saying they are terrible individually - everything about this band individually and together rocks. It's just a chemistry that works. It doesn't just work.
