    I can't believe this doesn't have more views! I played bass growing up and then stopped for like 5+ years. I'm just getting back into it, and your videos have been extremely helpful in getting my bass knowledge back up to snuff. Thank you!

      I believe that it seems to be a good idea to learn all this. My problem seems to be that I rather listen to these chords being played with the hands positions and sequences. Maybe my intellectual capacities are limited but still appreciate this approach. I guess I’ll practice these alternatives.

    time on video is 1:16 the Shape is for a minor chord not major. I'm watching this video to learn chords but this is confusing. G major has a B not a Bb

    What's your favourite track with Bass Guitar Chords? I'll get you started, Circles by Mac Miller (which uses 3 note chords) and Meet Me At the Corner by RHCP (which uses 2 note chords). I'm making a list in the video description, so let me know any tracks you know which have killer bass chords. TABS and Guitar Pros for this lesson are available here tomjohns.gumroad.com/l/zukxv I have limited space for 1-2-1 Lessons here calendly.com/tom-w9a/one-hour-bass-lesson

      Hey - RHCP Has chords by memory, may be wrong and the end of Dark Necessities. There’s good videos on Victor Wooten’s chords for Isn’t She Lovely which sounds great

    At 1 minute and 17 seconds your pointer finger is on the 15 fret E string you're middle finger on the 16th Fred G and your 3rd finger on the 17th Fred D but the diagram shows for major chord on 15th fret E string and 15th fret g and 16th fret D

      Yeah, I noticed that his chord diagrams for 3 note chords is wrong (major chords only).
      When he starts playing the chord progressions, @1:36 the frets shown on the bottom of the screen are correct.

    3 note chords. The A major. Surely the diagram is wrong. You have an Eb on the G string. In fact the E and G strings show the minor shape. The major 7 dot is right. ????

  • @nikitomag09

    full begginer question here: is it 100% necessary to press the string right before the fret? or can i still press halfway? I---/---I

    • @lznoswt
      @lznoswt ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you'll notice that the farther up (towards the middle) you press the fret, the likelier it is for you to get a buzzing from the string hitting the fret, or the note will not sound as full, or buzzy. You can get away with pressing the string in the middle of the fret IF it sounds good, and usually more towards the bridge

    The chords are wrong ( some of them ). For example on the G major chord the third is flattened, making it a minor chord.

    Bass should be placed between legs, not on right leg

    • @therealbaglady
      @therealbaglady ปีที่แล้ว

      Place your bass between your legs if that feels right for you. Others will place their bass wherever as long as they feel right about their bass. We're not making mass produced cookies here.

    I don’t really think Thunder Cat is any good he’s a very messy player all show and no feel.
