I've visited the site and the work is well done, wish that all infrastructural works could be done like this.Jamaica would be better. Thanks mbj you make a proud Jamaican.
This is great Stewy. You've done a great job documenting this. I'm going to miss coming in May but hopefully between then and our Dec trip we can squeeze one in.
Thanks for informing the Jamaican public where information may be otherwise lacking. The more informed we are the greater the likelihood that we'll take a more active role in our everyday affairs. Stewy, I love the wildlife in the area. It makes any ordinary special. Do you know if an environmental assessment was done in order to preserve as much of the wildlife and biodiversity in the area before construction?
Thanks for taking the time to make such a wonderful comment much appreciated, whenever I see are hear about development taking place in this country, development that is deemed necessary for our future development and growth I feel pure joy and I am always happy to share what I see with my fellow Jamaicans and the world to let them know that Jamaica has positive stories to be told too.
Yes nuh man,big up yourself Shawn,it would be fair to say that but according to the information given out by the airport it is to improve RESA runway end safety area at both ends of the airport for the airport and runway to meet the requirements of the ICAO international Civil aviation organization
@@paulmarriott266 Thanks for watching and commenting, I don't have a background in aviation just a love for the subject and also trying to document our islands growth, RESA stands for runway end safety area
They did a road like that in Reo Grande Valley Portland they oil the road surface and then sand it and that was it ? Rio Grande Valley Portland has the most rain fall in Jamaica, that sand road didn't lasted. Western Jamaica that road surface should last a long time.

I was watching JIS Magazine video a month ago and they said a British Civil Engineering Company got the contract to do the running expansion
great video, love the details, too close to the airport to get a drone view ?.
Thanks, yes nothing flies in this area without permission
Stewy, very informative, thank you. Question. Do you know if the expansion will include solar tech to complement this SOA airport? Hope so
Thanks for watching Debbie , I know this airport has already installed a roof solar system which will reduce there electricity bill by 11%
@@1STEWY that's great!
Is there going to be any street lights on this stretch of road?
Thanks for watching Steve, most definitely yes

In regards to the impact assessment, the information is readily available at the NEPA website
Stewy pon da missiion, just to confirm, the runway expansion is for larger aircrafts right?

Why they make that small walk way
Thanks for watching, are you referring to the sidewalk
@@1STEWY yes
@@1STEWY You're welcome
And when rain fall boom place flood out
A good job was done here elevating the road here so flooding should not be a problem here
