Just got a CK 859. It’s s a stunner. Love the Longines as well. In a world of where divers, gmt, etc get most of the love, I’m glad that we have these beauties to break up the monotony.
Congrats on the pickup, shortly after this video, the model went discontinued and shot up in desirability and popularity, sprouting multiple videos within a couple of weeks.
Nice video! Just one correction: The omega doesn't have a ghost date. The first crown setting is for jumping local hours. In other words, when you change time zones, you can jump the hour hand without affecting the minute or seconds. For a watch this accurate, it's nice not to have to zero set the seconds and adjust the minute hand when you're traveling. Rather than being an oversight, it's a cool little feature which Omega added to this movement.
so mind blowing how the longines is so old but yet so modern, just amazing. omega is timeless. crazy how longines is so much less, but is being compared to the omega.
Thank you very much for the comparison video. I like the Longines better due to the dial. I am looking towards the Spirit 37 champagne dial for my next purchase.
Thanks for clarifying that. It’s the same feature as in most of their watches including the Aqua Terra. I own the AT, as well as own both of these watches, and love them both.
Annoyances for the Longines: 19mm lugs, lugs are slightly too long as usual, rotated 9 and 3, though the silver ring does add something more interesting. The Omega looks a tad plain and has double minute rings like some other sector watches (Patek) for some reason. The hands are so nice, though. The supplied Omega strap isn't great. There are at least 5 other colors and styles that look better than that. Also manual vs automatic - something to consider. Just some thoughts.
My heart rests between the two !. With the beautiful dial of the Longines, I will see the movement of the Omega, which is excellent. This is a variant of the 8912 (which is very accurate) that I have in my Seamaster 300 Heritage!
I bought the Heritage Classic. Love it. I think it's not only the best in class, but it's also near the bottom in terms of price. It is -2/+2 seconds a day, which would put it on par or better than the METAS watches. It's not my most valuable watch, but it's my most accurate. The CK 859 is the 2nd best in class, IMO, but at 3-4x the price, it's not a good value. That said, I will own one some day. The dial is like no other! I love the font!
I have the Longines with a black dial. You get a lot of watch for the money. It ekes quality, the movement is very accurate. The ETA L893 is exclusive to Longines. With it's thin hands it's really easy to see the exact time. Unobtrusive on the wrist this watch looks great with a suit or with a short sleeve shirt in summer. This watch isn't exactly cheap but it's a third of the price of the Omega. I can live with that.
Not sure te omega kept its price because its numbred and "limited" omega knows how to over do "limited" it takes quite a bit of effort to find an omega that isnt limited it's slightly annoying... The CK859 is an amazing design and theres nothing much similar the brand does hence the strong price. Love the CK859 my favourite omega it shouldn't be stuck as a limited
There is no ghost date. That's a mistake. The movement actually has a crown setting for jumping local hours. It basically makes it easier to travel with because when you change time zones, you don't have to reset the minute hand - which is awesome because the watch is incredibly accurate.
@@ztobe3822 oh right! Good thing to mention that indeed, I forgot about this great feature! Quite a few Omega models feature this, kind of quietly actually.

I love both of these watches. for 1/3 the price of the Omega, the Longines represents amazing value.
The finishing on the case and dial on the Omega is noticeably better. However, I like the art-deco sector dial of the Longines more.
Omega for me! Classically beautiful
The 859 might be my favorite watch of all time. Thanks for the video.
I have both and both are wonderful. I love the Omega, yet, the Longines makes me smile more.

I wish those 2 watches would get it on and have a baby. Love the lugs, hands and movement of the Omega, but really like the dial of the Longines.
That would be almost perfect
Both pieces are great! Great content as usual bud 🙏🏻
I can’t decide. My wallet says Longines but my heart says Omega.
I think the first position is for jumping hours. Not a phantom position.
Thanks for clarifying that. It’s the same feature as in most of their watches including the Aqua Terra. I own the AT, as well as own both of these watches, and love them both.
Picked amazing 2 watches for a head to head view. Thx Mark

Awesome! I needed this comparison.

I own the Omega, however, I would love to buy the Longines as well.
hi... why Numbered Limited Edition ?.. if it must be only numbered Edition why the Limited ... in the back of the case shows only the watch number
OMG omega…so beautiful.
I bought the Longines
Lol missed out the hour changing on first position, amazing feature for traveling
Yeah, I guess so 😅
Hello it's not a ghost date, it's a jump hour function
ehm, omega in different league in this one
The Omega is clearly finished much better but for some reason (maybe restraint and simplicity of the dial) I prefer the Longines
If your in the market for a dress piece it doesn't get much classier
can't unsee the ag925

I'd love to have a CK859. The Longines is really nice too but doesn't look quite as good in the flesh, and the hands are too thin for me.
I just want to know how your wrist is 7.25 or 7.5? Are we talking 7.5 when your bloated and then dehydrated at fight weight it's 7.25?
Depends on how high or low on the wrist I wear the watch, on or below the wrist bone is 7.25" vs. above the bone is 7.5"
@@AverageBros Ah that makes sense. Thanks! I was hoping it was a fight weight scenario though lol.
LOngines is more vintage looking so that's the one for me
Excellent vidéo!
Makes me appreciate the Longines even more.
To me to ghost date on the Omega is not acceptable at this level.

Omega only because with doesn’t have the half cut 6
Крутые часы.
Omega way much nicer, look at those hands , just perfect, on the longines, lazy and boring.
What, ghost position on the Omega? That’s cheap!
no not ghost position it is wrong... first position is to move the hour hand
Longines look so cheap. Like these for 10e at Lidl store.
