You all know how these go by now but just in case this video isn’t meant to start fights over who’s best but to compare different bass vocalists in a fair way. By showing them all singing on the same note it allows you to see the differences between their voices and understand the mechanisms behind their timbre

G1 is my favorite low note, it’s a perfect mix of bass, tone, and it’s little louder than the lower noted
Yea but im not gonna lie…A good B1, E1 or even a C1 hits SO MUCH DIFFERENT…Depends on how it was sung tho

Matt Fouch was a huge surprise for me. When I discovered him few years ago I didn't even notice he's a bass because his speaking voice doesn't sound very bass-like if you ask me. He has a voice of a rather warm bass-baritone at best but in recent years he started to sing really powerful low notes which you wouldn't expect from someone with a voice like his. You can tell he worked really hard on his voice.
He has also good technique on his voice
he's forced himself to speak high when he was young, an advice he received from a bass he was looking up to

Interesting fact: British actress June Brown [who played long serving protagonist Dot Cotton in the soap opera EastEnders] hit this note whilst talking about her personal life during a BBC1 documentary. It was definitely full.
Pretty sure Nina Hagen hit that note a few times as well

1:26 I know that's chest bit that's the most subharmonic sounding chest G1 I've heard. Maybe it's because he's a very light but decently low bass? Or maybe a light placement?
It’s a bit auto tuned so it sounds a bit like that Robotic sound of subharmonics

It goes between C#0-Eb0. He aims for the C0 but he is sharp. In another clip he aims for C0 but goes flat and hits B-1.

If a baritone is hitting an E2 with any vocal weight, he is technically a bass-baritone.

@@NathanJ-E, absolutely incorrect. An average baritone is limited to A2, with skilled baritones reaching F2. A baritone who reaches below this becomes a bass-baritone -- a separate classification. What's your education in, by the way? Do you know what mine is in? For the record, it's music, with over 20 years of vocal coaching.

Glenn Miller, Vladimir Pasjukov Eric alatorre,Glib Chandrowsky would/ should be a profondo in anyone's book. However many others have power in the contra octave are a legendary bass singers.
