    This channel has improved so much!
    I was already a game nerd and loved the old videos, but now they are just making much better stuff rather than just raw capture with UI layered on the video. Good job guys.

      You feel it's biased? Towards which platform? I always felt it kept to the truth and showed unbiased information on consoles/PC rather than any BS about "PS4 v Xbox" stuff.

      Grayson Wolowicz I thought you were implying they were already biased. Yup, I feel you, it's why I like these guys.

    So the frametimes you show are related to how long the frame stays on screen, not how long it took to render. That was something I was curious about because without the ability to hook into the engine to know I wondered how you got that value.

  • @xxnike0629xx
    @xxnike0629xx 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That's good to hear you recorded at 1080p, 60 fps, and *lossless* videos to give as accurate of a comparison as possible.
    I imagine that you need to have a very fast processor (perhaps a core i7 and maybe a dual graphics cards set up to be able to render high quality video; especially when doing the console comparison?
    It's weird that how current gen (PS4, Xbox One) games are sometimes locked at 30 fps, 1080p...
    Why do developers do that?
    It's obvious that games can now run on consoles at 60 fps, 1080p.
    And when like IGN, GameTrailers, GameSpot, etc do these comparison videos, are they as technical and accurate as you guys?
    I also notice you do not have the newer versions of the PS3.
    Why is that?
    Isn't the super slim model more power efficient and overall performs betters and more smoothly?

      +xWOC A Blackmagicdesign card can do this fairly accurately at a full lossless dump- to the point where you NEED SSD's to capture to.

    • @LVNeptune
      @LVNeptune 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Shadow Fox Infinite With all the RAM available shouldn't be too hard to dump from RAM to HD. But everyone should have SSD's now. Hard drives are antiquated tech. I have a couple 4TB platters but will be swapping them out for a few 2TB SSD's soon.

    +DigitalFoundry Hi guys great video and piece of software, this is really a very grounded benchmark, is great that you not limit yourself to higher end harware as well as alot of user not only have budget components, but don't have >60hz screens.
    Anyway i was wondering if you have other videos that explain tearing as well as this showed, i have been a pc gamer for over 4 years however i didn't know that tearing happened below 60fps, ( i tough it was only if you go beyond it) thhe tech that you used to show diference in frames in 60fps was also a little complicated, and i don't understand why, why isn't it as the 30 fps and shows that lets say a 59 fps, you have at the bottom black beer that couldn't bee completely refreshed?
