I’ve been alcohol and drug free since 05’. Weed, shrooms and a bit of acid led me to bipolar disorder. My friends continued on to doing coke. You see that your family are the only ones that care when you are institutionalized in a psych ward. Go to the gym 3-4 times a week and love my wife and kids. Dark days are behind me for now. My strength will be tested when I lose my parents. I hope I can be strong for my wife and kids. Happy for Steve-O!
Family is all you have at the end of the day. Friends come and go, it don't matter how long you've known them, adulthood especially young guys go through the same shit which in turn leads to a drug-depending friendship, where all you like to do is get fucked up together, take the drugs out and you have no friends. Sad truth.

Ask yourself what you're afraid would happen if you stayed sober. Once you have an answer, ask yourself, if that happened, then what? And if that happened, then what would happen?

All respect to Steve-O and anyone who got clean or is trying. I've never struggled with addiction but I've seen it tear friends' lives apart. I've seen people desperate to get clean. It's great to see someone succeed.

Steve-O is a great example of how to keep living a rockstar lifestyle after cutting ties with toxic substances! He inspires me to do the same. Thanks Steve-O!
exactly..I think that´s the hardest thing; to not feel that your life is now kind of boring and that the fun times are behind you now. That transition is quite hard, but you get used to everything.. and after a while, it jsut feels good and you can be crazy and have fun again, also in a sober state.
use the steps; attend AA or NA (they use the same steps), and remember that the substance isn't your problem, work on changing you, you're the problem....you can do it :)

I remember when Jackass first appeared on TV, I was finishing school. Being barely 12 back then, I just couldn´t believe the stuff those guys were willing to do just for the sake of entertainment, and Steve O was by far the one who did some of the gnarliest shit my eyes have witnessed to this day. So, having that in mind, It´s reasonable to say he was the one anyone could say would end up getting fucked up to death. But now he got his shit together, and that´s truly remarkable. If he managed to reach sobriety, anybody can. Also, huge kudos to Knoxville for having the initiative to get Steve O´s ass inside that psychiatric ward. Speaks lots of him. "Hi, I´m Johnny Knoxville, and this is me getting Steve O´s sorry ass a much needed fresh start".
Decided that I was going to attempt to go through 2022 sober. Looked up sobriety vids just now because my head is hurting from wanting a beer in my belly. Thank you Steveo.

I wish you the best of luck 🖤 addiction is one hell of a beast but admitting you have a problem and reaching out to get help is a big step in the right direction! Like Steveo said here “join the pack”

There just comes a time when the honeymoon is over with drugs and alcohol.. any use beyond this time is highly detrimental and the substance WILL take waaaay more than it gives back. There is nothing sadder than a senior druggie/alcoholic. Appreciate the fun you had and MOVE on with a healthy lifestyle. If you continue using after the honeymoon period you're chasing a lie.

I adore Steve O. Been watching him on TV for over 20 years. His growth is amazing. He has given his life now to helping people and rescue animals. He is an angel.
Isn't living life on life's terms without having to alter your state of mind an awesome thing. It still amazes me all those years I had to have some kind of substance, drink, to "enjoy, relax, have a good time" Makes me realize how weak I actually was. Great job SteveO
To me it’s about the level of self control a person has. If you can take two hits of pot (bowl or bong and no FAT RIPS) or drink 2 beers and then call it quits for the rest of the night you don’t need to be sober. If you however have to smoke pot until you sleep and when you wake up, or need to drink 8 beers at night you NEED to be sober. This is why many people have normal lives while also doing some drugs, while some are better off never touching the stuff. It’s all individual. I drink once every few weeks socially but can’t imagine being loaded every night, I’d have trouble keeping my life together. Weed is much less damaging as alcohol tho.... I wish alcohol didn’t exist.
@@johnnybravo5962 i dont enjoy being loaded at all. i have alcoholism in my gblood thank goodness i never enjoyed the stuff. weed however i am definitely somewhat addicted too. i can stop for months up to a year like i have in the past but i'll always think about it

The best way to quit drugs is to see not how much they mess you up, but to see how much you love them more than anything else, once this is realised then you will want to quit as nothing should be more loved than those close to you...
I’ve been battling addiction for 22 years and I’m 36 now. Managed to quit the pills and hard drugs, still drinking, smoking grade and ciggies. The mental gymnastics I constantly put myself through to justify using is bordering on absurd at this point. I’m gna give quitting alcohol another go from this Monday lol. Wish me luck!

Male Feminist I agree. Weed isn’t for me either. I get debilitating anxiety. I will never smoke again. Last time I smoked my heart rate went skyhigh. My veins felt like they were on fire and I had a feeling like I was leaving my body. Rushed to the ER, my top heartrate was 217: not healthy. It scared the crap out of me and now I even leave the room when someone else starts smoking.

RastaSaiyaman Brandon's Steve o's were even worse than Brandon he was literally getting fucked up and destroying his house and himself and shit. Brandon was just a lazy H addict. But good on both of them for getting sober, now they just need to save bam.
I’m here to tell ya’ that’s there’s no miracle cure or solution to alcoholism; you either quit drinking, or you don’t. There’s a decision that has to be made. That’s it. That’s all. Been sober 9.yrs myself. Gone through 16 treatment centres over a 20 year span. I speak from experience. Like Nike says, Just Do It!
Oxycodone brought me to my knees. I had been a Catholic priest for 16 years at the time when I was first prescribed it after falling through a roof while trying to help rebuild after Hurricane Katrina. My doctor was a parishioner of mine. I have since gotten clean but I am no longer a priest. I do go to a local hospital's drug rehab once a week as part of NA, have a meeting and talk to the people there. If you pray, please pray for me and know that I do for you, as well. (On what could be called a side note: I met and am in a very cool "serious" relationship with a Doctor of Osteopathy, which is an M.D. but with more study involved. Anyway, as one who went through the living Hell that I went through, it's an interesting place to end up.)
I spent so many years of my life under the spell of alcohol, depression and severe ptsd. Gained my freedom with the help of nature using mushroom (psilocybin) precisely. After my experience with shrooms five years ago every bottle of alcohol I picked up tasted like literal poison. I would take one taste put out the alcohol. I haven't drink since, no more depressive mood and ptsd. Few doses of shroom experience made a 15 year 4 bottles a day drinker quit instantly. Shrooms are life changing. There is no way you can put into words what it feels like..
I love hearing great life changing stories like this. I want to become a mycologist because honestly mushrooms are the best form of medicine (most especially the psychedelic ones) There are so many people today used magic mushrooms to ween off of SSRI medication- its amazing! Years back i wrote an entire essay about psychedelics. they saved you from death buddy, lets be honest here.
Can you help me with the reliable source 🙏. I'm 56 and have suffered for years with addiction, anxiety and severe ptsd, I got my panic attacks under control myself years ago and they have come back with a vengeance, I'm constantly trying to take full breaths but can't get the full satisfying breath out, it's absolutely crippling me, i live in Germany. I don't know much about these mushrooms. Really need a reliable source!! Can't wait to get them
Yes sure of mycologist Pedroshrooms. I have the same experience with anxiety, addiction. Shrooms can really help break the spell. Whatever spell you may be under.
....so much respect to this guy. I know about addiction (my dad died a day before his 40th birthday of an overdose of heroin, suicide...he was ashamed and lost everything he loved due to this dissease) and I know it's a lifetime goal, sometimes struggle, to stay sober..... So if you can get clean for 11 years already, then you are a strong and smart human being! Love to Steve O.
you can see in the cribs episode in steve-o's apartment that Knoxville was pretty upset with the state of his place. glad to see he helped him get sober.
To be honest, Steve O is a real inspiration, I’ve been to rehab two times and now I don’t drink often but I’m at the point why do I keep going back to this that has caused me so much pain and stress not just to me but also my family? I can go a whole month without drinking and not miss it one bit but when I do I just binge drink, it’s exhausting, it’s draining and today is the day I’ll start my sobriety, I’ve seen so many faces of alcoholism in my dad and myself, enough

I'm almost at the 10 year mark. Quitting drinking was the hardest thing I've ever done.
I struggle with alcoholism and it’s one of the toughest monkeys to get off you back
27 days sober..still tough going.Especially when you don’t have a great deal of support.
@gettindrunker I recommend changing your handle name to start with. It won't help. I also got a "No alcohol" sign for my place and I'm buying milestone wrist bands. Im almost a month Im about to get the 1 month one, and Im looking forward for the 3, 6 and a year one.
Sad truth.
Worded very well and true👍
same story down to acid kicking my brain for good! no one believes acid can damadge you but it does! your family is obviously a big blessing from GOD. they will help you . GOD will help you. i have NO doubt. youll see when whatever it is you think you might not handle well will go bye while your handlingn it. it will make you closer to your children. youll see!!!!!
Acid, weed and shrooms caused bipolar disorder🤦🏽♂️🤨 nahhh that shit came from coke and alcohol buddy, do not blame psychedelics they are meant to be used (properly)to help with bipolar disorder anxiety depression and other mental health problems maybe you abused them and you need to have respect for psychedelics or they will be as harmful as hard drugs (btw i tried all three of them and they all had a positive effect on my mind and body )

Nothing beats a fat joint tho.

The best way to quit drugs is to see not how much they mess you up, but to see how much you love them more than anything else, once this is realised then you will want to quit as nothing should be more loved than those close to you...

Steve, you’ve inspired me greatly with your story. Got me to share mine and it’s been helping a lot vlogging my journey! Thanks!:)

Watching this, then thinking about how Bam's doing is real bittersweet.
