- It's hard to believe, but I had completely different teeth in each of the three Jackass movies. Uploading this video represents my effort to let go of lifelong insecurities, and I hope it helps some of you out there to do the same!

I wasn’t prepared for this amazing wave of wonderful comments, thank you so much, Everyone! To the people who asked what to do about the awful smelling bacteria- run floss through your teeth, and then smell it. You’ll know right away if you have it. If you do, it’s extra important to floss regularly (and WaterPik in addition is great, too). It can’t hurt to get proper cleanings from the dentist, too. Lastly, to everyone who shared about their own insecurities- my heart hurts for you, but thank you for speaking up. Please smile for me, no matter what it looks like!

It's so easy to say just get your teeth fixed, but people don't realize the cost and the hour spent, I have a Corvette worth of dental work that has been going on for 4 yrs and am currently in a hotel in Baltimore so I can wake up at 6 for another appointment tomorrow. The whole thing is fucking exhausting. That's while I'll never judge anybody on how their teeth look.

Genuine, Steve-o is such an inspiration to me. He gives off the feeling of a cool uncle who was a delinquent in his youth, and still has that sort of playful nature, but he's mellowed out over time and just gives the best advice.

In reality I think that it’s extremely important to hear mega celebrities like Steve-O talk about things like their addictions, and their teeth because things like that can be so sensitive and people can feel ashamed. Hearing someone who you look up to/are a fan of confront these things head on is so beneficial and humanizing because it feels like it’s okay to talk about it, to accept it, and to do whatever you need to to feel okay. 💙

The 90s in a nutshell
Never would have thought steevo would be someone I'd be looking up to later in life. His story is truly amazing and inspiring.
I have always been self conscious about my smile and teeth. At like 21, a dental assistant told me that I had the mouth of a 65 year old man, and so that pretty much sealed the deal for insecurity and depression.
That seriously hits home. Its sucks having bad teeth when you're young, looking at other people your age with their perfect white teeth. It's a MASSIVE insecurity of mine.
Ugh I feel so bad for you. Dental people and anyone in the health industry need to shine the positive. If ever anyone in a health care position tries to put you down, know it says more about them as it's unprofessional. It's wise to make a complaint to the people above them, then ask around friends / family / online for recommendations and seek kinder help. Literally never a need to say things like that to a client / patient. When I was younger I had a couple of rough experiences and the second time I complained and they fired the person (not my intention, but still) and said they had been WAITING for a client to say something so they could get rid of her! This taught me feedback is everything. I also give generous compliments when treatment is good. I have zero tolerance now for bs from professionals. Sure I can take advice when I need to, but when it's just mean, hell no.

I had to have every one of my teeth pulled by the age of 26. Due to a severe enamel deficiency, there was nothing I could do to save them. I can relate to not showing teeth when I speak, and the hours I spent practicing in the mirror. That feeling of shame is not something that I would wish on anyone in the world. Dental work is so Goddamn expensive too, so much that I thought my only two options were to deal with it, or kill myself. Thankfully, I got a job with great insurance, and was able to afford dentures. My long-term goal is to get dental post implants. My journey may be far from over, but, I never thought I'd make it as far as I have. I wouldn't be here if I didn't have such a great support system from my wife and family. Life is always worth living, and worth fighting for.
Honestly I'm lucky, I nearly lost my teeth because the roof of my mouth was deformed so badly they caused my teeth to be ruined, I'm lucky my mom was nice enough to fix them.
My front tooth has been chipped for over a year since I can afford to fix it. I find myself being the quite one in the room more often even though I used to be the loudest and first to speak, makes me super depressed. This video a comment made me feel a lot better. Thanks for sharing.

But that's not the reason why I pulled 14 of my teeth, 4 being my wisdom teeth. I went through a bad time when my dad died and every single person I knew completely turned their backs on me. My whole family, my girlfriends family and she had broke up with me 4 months before my dad died. Everyone treated me just fine right up until my dad was lowered into the ground and I immediately became the scapegoat. The story is unbelievable. My whole life was supposed to change, what would've been 2 months after my dad died cause I was getting my license back. I used to pull hay for a living and It was lucrative and my dad and I were in business together. I had lost my license for 5 years. My multimillionaire sister became the executer to what was my dad's estate, but in all reality it was all mine. So I had a really tough time at the wake and I was fucked up and I guess I made a scene. My teeth were really hurting and that was why I was all fucked up at the wake. She looked at me like she was going to kill me. My sister is one of a kind. I knew my future was in her hands. So I thought if I didn't do anything about my teeth that she would hold it against me and take away my equipment. So I went and had 9 teeth pulled because of the fear i had for her. I figured I would be working again and making good money soon and I would just get implants, well she took all my equipment and she wouldn't let me lease the property that we had leased for years from her so I was out of business. I want into deep depression and don't even remember 2 years of my life. Nevermind I had to fix my teeth. I was unaware of the ramifications of what tooth loss would do to my face and looks and jawline and brow line and forehead and chin and temple's. It has destroyed the person I was and I have no girlfriend and I always had a girlfriend and I never had to even ask girls out, they would ask me out. The whole world is a different experience now. I am treated different by everyone. My family looks at me different. I think just maybe if they were around and I had a little support that it could've helped. I feel for you bro. I really do.
As someone who literally JUST got dental crowns on all 6 front teeth, canine to canine, I appreciate this video. I’ve always been so self conscious of my teeth and it makes you feel so lonely. It seems like everyone my age had/has perfect teeth and I’m the only one who got the short end. So thank you for posting this.

I’m about 15 months clean after 20+ years of dope use (and really anything else I could get my hands on-dope was just the one I couldn’t do without), and now I need some dental work and I’m self conscious about it all. I feel this to my core dude. When I was a kid I had an under-bite. Ended up getting braces but they left little stains on my teeth. Then I dealt with addiction as well until my early thirties. I am now over two years going on three clean and sober. But my biggest insecurity is still my teeth, now more then ever. I hate being sober and people assuming I am still on drugs because of my teeth alone. So getting them fixed is definitely at the top of my to do list as soon as I can afford it. You are one of the most inspiring people I know bro, keep it up❤❤❤

Honestly, this is a VERY good uplifting video! Showing the world your imperfections and saying "f#@k it who cares" is Awesome ! As someone with very imperfect teeth like myself I kinda know your pain. AND, I just started my own TH-cam channel for my business. After being on camera a few times I just let all the worries go. I'm no model and I'm not trying to be. All the insecurities mean nothing! Just be confident in who you are...NOT what you look like! Excellent video dude!

Ever since I saw this video in early 2020, I have kept up with my brushing and flossing, something that I didn't do nearly enough of. Now in 2022, I've got a solid routine I stick to, I'm not scared to go the dentist anymore, and my smile is the healthiest its been in a long time! And I truly have this vid to thank for inspiring me to keep my mouth healthy (something 5+ dentists couldn't do lol). I'm so grateful for this video Steveo, it had to take a lot of courage to make. I've loved watching your insane stunts since the WildBoyz days, but nothing is better than seeing you as you are now: successful, healthy, and happy. You're the most unlikely role model a guy could have, but I want to be able to embrace my mistakes, accept myself, and push for self-improvement just as you have over the years. It's a tough process, but your advice makes it so much easier. Rock on Steveo, thanks for being a legend!

Thanks for sharing this Steve-O. I'm also super insecure about my teeth. I didn't take care of them so they are discolored and I lost my retainer for my bottom teeth so they are very crooked. I'm hoping to save up and get veneers, but know they will come with there own issues.
