    The simple rule #1 in economics: Government consumer subsidies create shortages and government producer subsidies create wasteful surpluses.
    The voters in some countries like Argentina seemed unable to grasp that this "things are better, we will party again now" mindset has to be opposed long term for decades in order to achieve real, permanent, prosperity.

    He was a risky choice. But still the voters chose him to run the affairs because of widespread discontent and anger against the establishment whom the citizens blame for the economic mess the country finds itself in. The mandate was for change and reform. He is doing justice to the public verdict.
