How to Replace a Diesel Injector Electrical Loom - VW/ Audi/ Skoda PD Engines

In this video Bluudy removes, tests and replaces the injector loom on this 2002 Volkswagen Golf with the PD 130 Engine. The same principle can be used for the PD 100, PD 110, PD 115, PD 130 PD 150 and PD 170 engines. The loom was purchased from a VW specialist which sells on Ebay for the cost of £70 delivered.
Symptoms before replacing;
Engine Management Light on - When read it shown code for a misfire on cylinder 3 with low voltage on injector 3.
Resolution was to replace the loom, due to age and wear and tear these loom deteriorate due to being covering in oil and exposed to high temperatures.

My a2 tdi has been running on two cylinders out of three and it's going in Wednesday for a new loom I hope this solves my problem and it's not an injector

Hi mate, my ASZ Ibiza occasionally on a longer run will judder and splutter at about 60-70, do you think my loom is a likely suspect?

Having identified the cylinder you could have kept the cost down by squeezing the electrical conectors to make a tight fit conection then it would have cost nowt.Great vid.

I couldn't find the actual damage on the wires. They get brital and break due to the heat and oil. Only way to fix is replace.
hello, My loom is leaking oil where the connection is with the plug on the right side of the engine. How can I stop this leaking? Do i take the bolts out and apply some rtv?
thats an option, i would look to see if the seal is sat correctly.
This same shit happen to my 2.0 TDI 140HP BMP engine. Oil leaking from the loom and it looks like the seal/o-ring is a goner. It's quite an annoying issue since the oil drips onto the block and smokes. Enters into the cabin and all.
@@shueibdahir mine seemed to stop leaking after I tightened its 2 nuts.

Okay but do a proper check of the wiring loom, if the cables aren´t brittle, you can dismantle, clean well, and tighten up all connectors. That´ll do the job. It´s more satisfying and cheaper :)
After 150k miles. If its the original loom like this was chances are its knackered yes in principle you are right but in reality its a very common program with an easy fix. The looms are not expensive.
Not Sure how that will work on the long run, the old loom as been exposed to years of nasty temperatures. A new loom would make sense here imo.
The loom looks like something you could fix with if you could find out which wire was faulty.
Yeah potentially. But you have to remember its covered in oil all the time so would have to be a good fix.
For anyone with a mk6. The loom should be on the outside.

How did you unplug the injector cable?
It has a clip, however I can't figure out how to release it.
Edit: Wiggle and pull. Be prepared for damaged fingers.
A Laser Tools 6938 Hose Clamp Removal Tool works a treat. Just lever against the metal part of the injector body
