I know what I'm doing and I'm really excited that I'm finally going to accomplish something that I've always wanted, but no matter how confident I am for a test my stomach will always betray me. Same here in Texas. Your also suppose to pull the skin taunt w/1st finger and thumb & secure w/pressure after removal of wax. Ensuring less pain. But helpful video..:)

i am so glad you are posting videos of the new practical they are so helpful, pretty soon i will be taking the new practical and my questions to you is are you going to do tutorial of the manicure and sculpture nail with the mannequin hand along with the facial this also will be a big help
@myKayKiss California state has the booklet posted in it's website. Try you state's website. Before, the instructors would be invited to board meetings, and we would get the old booklet there, we would copy and give it to students; see if your teacher has any info on that. hope this helps.
@swthun4lyf3 Better to test on the wrist with one stick, and use another stick to apply. They gave a lot of points to this waxing part of the exam, so it is better to be careful. Good luck with your test on Friday. Let me know if you passed and what was new on the test.
@elloPrado Are you from California? If yes, you are so lucky! The test is rediculously easy now. All the requirements are posted on Consumer affeir's website, or State Board of cosmetology page. Unfortunately, our school district is in a process of voting to close all occupational centers, and our school is part of that. I can help you right here, on my channel. You don't have to, just squeeze the cotton so the antiseptic is not too watery on the doll face; it does not have pores to absorb, so very light application is necessary

From what I have hear yes it is the same for Pa test. I have been trying to find out info on pa everything I find is CA. I have called schools around the Pittsburgh area they want 150.00 up to 500.00 for the info. If your trying to test i suggest winging it i tested 16 yrs ago in ohio trying to get Pa license since its been a while ohio will not give me mine. So i must retest.
Hi I have a quick question I have my state board on friday and i'm bringing model that has tattooed eyebrow so it's it okay for a model requirement? it's been a while since she tattooed her eyebrow. Im freaking out because i just have one day left ...
I'm taking the California esthetics exam in a week. How many times do you need to drape the doll head? For each procedure? Also, do you need to have hand soap? When do you use it? It is listed in the general supplies. I was taught to just use hand sanitizer throughout the exam.

@hugjaz12806 You simply need to hold he hand in the bowl; yes, I know, it sounds funny, but it is what it is. No stand for the plastic hand, but, there is a stand for the mannequin. It goes on the back of the chair and you need to drape it like a real model.

The only mistake is applying 6 rods for the perm on the back; other teachers are telling to wrap the entire middle/back section. It is called COSMETOLOGY STATE BOARD EXAM PRACTICAL REQUIREMENTS. Just visit my channel, and check the videos. If you have any questions, you can send me a message, but I am sick today, and it will take time to answer

Don't worry, you will pass; the school will teach you the hands on, and then when you are ready, go over the cosmetology: theory for state board play list for the theory and the practicals are online, too.

just to add, you need to demonstrate that you REMOVE the test product from your wrist! to maintain hygiene and client protection. Great video.

I am not sure; it works for California and all states that adapted the NIC test. You can check your state's
website for details.

They already have brought the facial back. They don't let you check the notes though.

in california...the state board wants you to use the powder before you tweeze, so "hairs" are more visiable. but great video thanks!

@MisstyChick I use a new cotton when tweezing the eyebrows.
When u apply the antiseptic to the eyebrow, did u use the same cotton when tweezing the eyebrows or did you use a new one?
