I'm just gonna pop this here, seeming as I get an absolute butt-tonne of the same question, and it's getting a little repetitive (Sorry, I just hate to repeat myself over and over...) Most of the content from this AMV comes from the second and third OVA of Yona of the Dawn, with some pieces from the main series. Thanks for the continued support, my beans! This has really taken off, further than I thought I'd ever get!
I love how you put the lyrics in the amv as well, usually you either have to go with either the lyric video or the amv and hope you know the song well enough to sing it, but you had both the subtitles from the anime and the lyrics in the same video, great editing job! The majority of the amvs that I see that actually have lyrics just have it at the important parts of the song and the chorus, but you have every lyric right at the time that it’s sang in the song, not a second off! I think I’m going to follow you because of this great edit, thanks!

@@sinthiya2093, I believe there were a multitude of reasons for Soo-Won's assassination of Yona's father. One of the reasons is because of his father, and revenge, but I also think it was down to the fact that he thought he could rule the kingdom better. Yona's father was always into peaceful solutions, but he did things behind the shadows to achieve them, and that's what got on Soo-Won's nerves. He gave away sections of land to neighbouring kingdoms to achieve peace, and Soo-Won was most likely worried that this would cause issues, and they would eventually run out of land to give.
Now I know why he react so calmly the first time he saw Yona He didn't feel his blood boiled because it wasn't his first time with "The Red Haired King"
Yeah, and it was also because all of the other dragons wouldn’t know that Yona is the reincarnation of the King, so their blood told them. Obviously, Zeno already knew she was the reincarnation, so his blood didn’t need to tell him that.
Also Zeno had actually been watching Yona and Hak ever since they left the castle. So either way, he would have met Yona already. (Its revealed in the manga)

After reading the manga, I can honestly say that Zeno is the only character in any series that's made me comprehend the burden of immortality. It's usually either thought of as an ultimate power or in the cases where it's negative--as an ability a character ineffectively broods over. There's just something about the way the scenes are drawn, an unexpected element of horror present in the depictions of him allowing himself to be literally torn apart in his effort to be a shield. Worse still, the reader isn't made aware of his power until pretty far into the story which makes the impact all the more distressing. It's to the point where I would be devastated if he wasn't able to die at the end of the series.

I find it really interesting when stumbling across characters, where you by the end of the seres just wish for them to find peace in death. Because they deserve peace and won't truly find it any other way.
Yeah, he was my favorite character since he got introduced, but after seeing his backstory, it’s so sad. Having to see everyone die around him and see countless other blue, green and white dragons through the generations while he’s all alone.

You know, the funny thing is, they always do this. They give the most fun-loving, lighthearted, super cheerful person a gruesome, painful or serious background. And usually, I can see it coming. So I'm not surprised that the character is deep and I just enjoy the addition of their backstory. But, damn, Zeno took me by complete surprise. It came out of nowhere. Like *BRUH!!!!!* And the tears just refused to stop. It was like I was reliving Assassination Classroom all over again. My heart broke three times over and when the backstory chapter finished, I just sat in a corner on my bed and contemplated on the perplexities of life.
I feel the worst for zeno. Imagine living on while you lose all those you cared for. Also i hate the fact so much that all the dragons had to deal with such b.s in their life. Yes the white dragon was still somewhat well off but still, he was so alone. The dragons were supposed go be treated as heroes but instead got treated as monsters... I hate it. I've cried in all of their stories.
I think that kinda makes sense that they are getting treated as monsters. Because of this pain they grew, they learned and knew how to handle hard situations but still be polite. Same with yona. She's a whole new human after she suffered pain and lost important humans. At first she was a rich and kinda ungrateful human. Now she's eating insects hahah just kidding. But I hope you know what I mean. Those guys are such great humans because they knew how to handle bad experiences and influences. Villans didn't probably made it and their anger grew. But I wanna know more about Hak so bad😩
You can see the difference of the current Zeno to how he was before. The sharp eyes and serious aura is so different to his smiling face whenever he's with the gang. I don't want to think of the inevitable pain from loss of these newfound loves later on:( sometimes I think what I would do if I were in his situation, would I build relationships even though I know that they'll all pass me by? Or avoid it altogether?
When his friends died, you can see in his eyes that he was in pain. But when he saw the present (dragons, his new gang) he was so happy and he acted like a child, he was so cute.
Zeno still does distance himself from everyone, he never calls anyone (except people important to him) by their names. He doesn’t want to get too attached because he knows they’ll pass on, but he won’t.
the question is always if the joy and beautiful memories you make with persons is worth the pain their death causes. It's the reason why we have pets. we know they die way before us and we still decide to live with them because the memries created with them ate so precious that they are worth all the sadness after they are gone
What I find kinda sad, when Yona and the others found out that Zeno was the first generation, Yona was really the only that was concerned that Zeno would have been alone that whole time (of course, he made it light-hearted and told them he got married before, to lighten the mood,) which really shows how she is the reincarnation of the King. Whilst everyone was just shocked, Yona felt sorry for him, because she figured that Zeno would have been alone for the majority of his life.
It breaks my heart when King Hiryuu hugs Zeno. He was a god, so he's the only one who knows exactly what it means that Zeno's body can't be hurt. To know that a person he loves will go through unspeakable pain and that he will be unable to do anything about it must be soul-crushing for him.
In vol 18 or the manga, Zeno is facing down a batailion or soldiers. He stands there alone with this legendary one-liner "Unlike you I have no limits, I can fight for centuries" and my heart breaks everytime I read it
So far Zeno's story is the most heart breaking, saddest, painful story. It is the story of lossing, waiting, loving, continued lossing and waiting and lossing. It is the most painful kind of torture, you keep on hurting to the maximum level but unable to die.
A lot of these comments are saying how badly people feel for Zeno, (And don't get me wrong I feel sad for him. He's definitely gone through hell and back.) but honestly we should be focusing on how strong of a person he is. And that he was chosen for a reason, the dragon knew he'd be able to handle it. And we should be celebrating his strength and courage throughout his journey.
Honestly, I feel the same way. It's like, every third comment someone says "I feel so sorry for Zeno, WAAAAHHH!😭" And I am just like "Ugh. **Facepalm** Will you please just stop." I'm not saying that to be harsh, I'm say that because I know where Zeno's coming from. I relate to him more than I do Yona or Kija, so it's like, "Maybe my life has been hard, but I don't want you to pity me or feel sorry for me. I've already felt sorry for myself, and it took me an eternity to dig out of that hole. I've come so far, so please don't feel sorry for me, for me. You don't need to do that. Just let me enjoy watching you find joy and strength in your life."
2018 anyone? Also, it's so amazing. Zeno has lost so much. Been stabbed, broken, 'killed' so many times. And yet, he's the one who smiles the most..the one who laughs the most..the one who makes others smile and be happy..Even though, deep down, he knows they'll pass eventually..."Those who smile the most, have cried the most tears."
That makes sense. Zeno having been reunited with the other dragons and Yona basically means he's found his family once again. But this time, he's not letting go so easily
Ohh some people actually made theories that kaya existed to make zeno happy and since yona is basically the reincarnation of the king and the girl he loves, zeno now has his family back😭😭
I feel his pain. It makes my heart ache so much. I cry every single time. He carries so much pain yet keeps such a happy optimistic attitude. He is such an amazing character
Zeno makes me think of all those villains or other characters (or real people) who say they want absolute immortality, but they don't comprehend exactly how mind-numbingly painful it would be to live forever, the world destroying itself as the people you love die and leave you behind and you being basically powerless to do anything at all.

Zeno, Shin-ah, Jae-ha and previous Ryokuryuus & Seiryuus have gone through so much. They should be treated like gods, not monsters. I really feel so sorry for them.💔 But atleast Hakuryuu village treated their dragon like a god as they should.

To me this song really drives home just how alone Zeno was after the rest of the original dragons died escpiaclly the line "I'd die to be where you are"
I can’t avoid feeling the highest empathy with Zeno. Even though each Dragon has gone through pain, I consider He has been the one that has suffered the most, and he has been through almost everything by himself; however He is the warmest, purest and happiest in the group 💛🐉 I love all of them, but Zeno is just very special...
It is really good to be immortal if there's no pain. However, Zeno's still a human and he'll always have the feeling of loss of his loved ones. I read the manga. How I wish they animated the other arc before releasing an OVA about Zeno's background. That was just a major spoiler. In the manga, ***spoiler*** his backstory was just revealed when he was "killed" in a war outside Kouka, which surprised Yona and the others after seeing his real ability.
This song is perfectly suitable for Zeno. He can't die so he felt all the people who he loves passed away. "When I awake, you'll disapear, back to the shadows with all I hold dear" - it seems when Zeno woke up every day, he faced with the reality that people let him alone. He just want to sleep forever like them. How disapointed Zeno was before he knew Hiryuu would return
When it goes "I'd die to be where you are I tried to be where you are" it makes me think of when he tells them that he tried various times to kill himself but it never worked...ah my poor child...great amv btw!!
It is so difficult to choose a favorite character from this story, cause all of them are so unique and perfect in their own ways, but I truly think Zeno would win this battle inside my heart. Everything about him is just so... purely tragic.
I’m glad they showed the background life of every “dragon” Zeno is by far the strongest and still the kindest. He kept fighting even tho everyone passes away around him. I really wish for his happiness in this series 💔❤️❤️💛💛

I love Zeno so much, he's fuckin cute and has a very sad story. He and Yoon are my favorite characters in Akatsuki no Yona, hope the next season, they'll have more scences.

I think I love Zeno's story the most. It's the saddest one compared to the other dragons and I'm so happy they kept his story last! Really hoping for a season 2, still waiting in 2021
I love this AMV! Hands down one of, if not the, best I've ever seen. Honestly one of the reasons I chose to watch the anime. This AMV has perfect scene choices and timing with the song. It's so poignant it brought me to tears. Very well done!

Just finished watching the anime, and came here to try to console myself. Oh damn my heart hurts so much for Zeno 😭💔 Especially on that scene where he's been holding Kaya's hand for years till it became a skeleton. (I even learned something about skeletonization cause I'm so moved by that particular scene) He's been literally through so much. My boy needs all the love in the whole world huhuhu 😫 It's so touching how he went to meet the other young dragons too. Oh please Season 2 come quickly. 😭

I would still makes friends. I would hold onto their memories keep them alive within me. But, it sure would be a lonely, sad path.

mhmm, she was quite sympathetic towards him! It's a part of her personality, but it could be a remnant of the old King still lingering.

So far Zeno's story is the most heart breaking, saddest, painful story. It is the story of lossing, waiting, loving, continued lossing and waiting and lossing. It is the most painful kind of torture, you keep on hurting to the maximum level but unable to die.

A lot of these comments are saying how badly people feel for Zeno, (And don't get me wrong I feel sad for him. He's definitely gone through hell and back.) but honestly we should be focusing on how strong of a person he is. And that he was chosen for a reason, the dragon knew he'd be able to handle it. And we should be celebrating his strength and courage throughout his journey.
I feel sorry for him and I want to reach to him and give him a hug.

Honestly, I feel the same way. It's like, every third comment someone says "I feel so sorry for Zeno, WAAAAHHH!😭" And I am just like "Ugh. **Facepalm** Will you please just stop."
I'm not saying that to be harsh, I'm say that because I know where Zeno's coming from. I relate to him more than I do Yona or Kija, so it's like, "Maybe my life has been hard, but I don't want you to pity me or feel sorry for me. I've already felt sorry for myself, and it took me an eternity to dig out of that hole. I've come so far, so please don't feel sorry for me, for me. You don't need to do that. Just let me enjoy watching you find joy and strength in your life."

Zeno makes me think of all those villains or other characters (or real people) who say they want absolute immortality, but they don't comprehend exactly how mind-numbingly painful it would be to live forever, the world destroying itself as the people you love die and leave you behind and you being basically powerless to do anything at all.
The first time I watched this amv, I only payed attention to the backstory and the music, but the second time I understood the lyrics and cried even more!

Zeno, Shin-ah, Jae-ha and previous Ryokuryuus & Seiryuus have gone through so much. They should be treated like gods, not monsters. I really feel so sorry for them.💔 But atleast Hakuryuu village treated their dragon like a god as they should.

I read the manga. How I wish they animated the other arc before releasing an OVA about Zeno's background. That was just a major spoiler. In the manga, ***spoiler*** his backstory was just revealed when he was "killed" in a war outside Kouka, which surprised Yona and the others after seeing his real ability.
This song is perfectly suitable for Zeno. He can't die so he felt all the people who he loves passed away.

Okay so I’m an anime fan
When I listen to songs like this I like close my eyes and think that I’m the main character of a show or living my life and I have strong powers and that I was in a war or fight and everyone I loved was captured and stuff so I fight but I die in the end but I return and everyone is happy but I lost someone that’s why I was fighting and the song is like when I awake you disappear back to the shadows that’s when I see the person that died.

(I even learned something about skeletonization cause I'm so moved by that particular scene) He's been literally through so much. My boy needs all the love in the whole world huhuhu 😫 It's so touching how he went to meet the other young dragons too. Oh please Season 2 come quickly. 😭
