The saddest thing about zeno is that yona and everyone are going to grow old and die and he'll have to go through it all again.
I think so, but I wonder if the red dragon will reincarnate over and over, or just once as Yona. I find it interesting that no new dragons have been born, as this set of dragons is actually older, or at least as old as their predecessors were when this they were born (I think Jaeha is 27 now, but his predecessor was early 20s then Jaeha was born). I'm thinking that this has to do with the presence of the red dragon. What I mean to say is that perhaps Zeno will start aging again, (perhaps yona's presence as the reincarnation of the red dragon will change things). Then again, perhaps not, and that would be sad for Zeno....
i dont think so since Zeno did not age when the first red dragon was here so if this is the last set of dragons and the last reincarnation of the red dragon, Zeno's powers will just fade away after each of the other dragons' deaths and die eventually of age
advena My thought is kind of the same with you.... there's no dragons born yet because of the presence of the red dragon( I mean it's hard to do your job if jaeha and the others are draining and the next dragons are still babies*know what I mean? ) But I hope Yona would do something to free Zeno(because yona is sooo caring, she might reach out to the yellow god dragon and convince him to release zeno.) HOPE SO! 😅

Well I guess that.... He knows that nothing lasts forever, and that he will,probably be left alone again after this adventure. So he wants to make the best of the time they have together, and make them all happy. He wants to protect his new family; whether it emotionally remains physically. He’ll be there for them. As he said, they are like his children, and he would never allow anything to kill them on his watch.
This is why he’s my favorite character in yona of the dawn. I wish he was real though so I could hug him.
I think zeno's past is probably one of the saddest out of the group at least until We find out the green dragons past cause his is kinda clouded
BlueEyedBadAss if you read the manga you'll find out that the green dragons past is not as bad as zenos. his back story is basically him being trapped and abused by his village

You can only understand how sad his story is when you look at the OVA's. In the anime, he is hardly mentioned. His fate is so sad. I'm glad he was not crazy, in solitude. I still hope for a second season and that he will not have to endure eternity any longer.

I legit thought I would tear up at the one OVA episode where it showed when he met the young dragons when they were younger and then he hugs them all ❤︎

Go to the Anime list page and just find "Akatsuki no Yona" or "Yona of the Dawn" (I don't remember which one was it that you had to find, and the list goes alphabetically) and then by the name or in the opposite row there will be the OVA! I've read the manga up until ch 184 and I can say that Zeno still has the saddest story ever. I just can't help but cry every time I remember how he slowly accepted his fate and tried to live with it. Imagine, all those years, he's been wandering in the world with no one beside him. That's why he was so thankful when he finally met everyone in the last ep. What I love Zeno is he's really the sunshine of the group. He's a happy-go-lucky guy but actually he's so perceptive. I feel like Zeno's character is as mysterious as Suwon's. He knows a lot of things but he lets fate do its work. And I really admire that for him.
I like Zeno really much. His backstory is in my opinion the saddest. I cry so much when I watch the 3. OVA. He and Kaya are cute and than she must die. This is very sad.

His backstory is one from the saddest ones. Later from all the animes I have seen, two are the sadest ones for me: Zeno's(from the OVA) and Unomiya Tenma's (from twin star exorcists manga). As i have notice from fandom they have the same voice actor.(what a stroke of luck)😅

Mrs. Potato Kaya was Zeno's wife he said ao himself in the manga. Your confusing her for the Red dragon. Kaya does look like Yona the resemblance is uncanny.

That one scene in the manga were their was a fire and while trying to save one of them Zeno got stuck in it it really broke my heart when I saw him keep burning then healing then burning over and over again until he managed to get out it was so sad every one in their group just watched as this happened because they couldn’t help otherwise they’d get burnt by the fire
