- #TheApprentice had its world premiere at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, where it received positive reviews for #SebastianStan and #JeremyStrong's performances as President Donald Trump and Roy Cohn, respectively. The film almost did not make it to theatrical release but is finally making its way to theaters this weekend from #BriarcliffEntertainment. The two critically acclaimed actors were kind enough to spend some time talking with #NextBestPicture Owner & Editor In Chief #MattNeglia about their work on the film, and they have a lot to say on the matter as to why people should be seeking this film out, no matter how triggering the subject may be for some viewers. Look, I admire these two actors, especially Sebastian Stan, but they are totally missing the point about why some of us do not want to see this before the election. We know who Trump is. We hate his guts. He disturbs us. And it just makes us more angry every single time we have to see this creature in our lives. To be honest, I’m not sure I can watch the film at all. And don’t tell me I’m not tethered to reality. I’m so tethered to reality, I’m in despair.

I gotta say, as someone who hates Trump, I really liked this movie. I think it humanizes him in a way that makes you realize he's still a terrible person even looking beyond preconceived bias. I understand not wanting to watch it though.
