WoR is most active 8pm-3am GMT on Weds, Fri, Sat & Sun. These times are normally busy on public servers aswell. Outside of those times the numbers drop. Its not a dead game, it has an active passionate community. Its a great game.
You need to join a Regiment and try organised battles between regs. Full servers, good coordonation. It's a ton of fun

Reloading must get annoying. Also I'm surprised the soldiers in real life didn't just get sick of the guns and go pickup swords.
They started having the Sharps rifle, you could load that one from the back with paper cartridges.
