What a strange, unique idea. I'd be down for an expanded version of this, the dev earned my respect from the sheer amount of random phone calls they wrote up. You got to keep the googly eyes though, that's part of the charm.
It's not actually random,there's a finite amount of calls before it dial tones you, except the specificly mentioned numbers

The mention of The Rubaiyat reminds me of that unsolved mystery about the man who was found on a beach with no identifying markers on his clothes, no one who could identify him, and his cause of death inconclusive. All he had on him was the last line of the The Rubaiyat in a hidden pocket in his clothes. Idk what this would have to do with a demon phone, except for the fact it was also on a beach and the mention of The Rubaiyat, but hey, it’s fun to be reminded of an unsolved mystery once in a while.
That’s probably what that was a reference to.
I think, because of the style of the phone this would have been a lot creepier if it was a kids toy that imprisoned children. So all the voices were young kids calling out for their parents, or talking about the last thing they did before playing with the phone, how they came to posses the phone, etc. Then there could also have been some adult voices trying to either help or deceive you and as a kid you're more inclined to listen to them with maybe some choice options thrown in from calling certain numbers or hanging up, even picking up the phone when it rang.

I felt like the three initial words rule would have been cool if there was a fake yellow call that broke that rule and was actually a trap.

This villain isn't very scary. I guess you could say it felt a bit..phony.. The idea of being trapped in it was troubling though-- imagine your friends and family trying to find you, while your whole life is on hold. That said, I did enjoy the game's atmosphere and tone.

OOh-the poem at around 3 mins in is a real poem! It’s “Rime of the Ancient Mariner” by ST Coleridge. It’s pretty good but very surreal and seems to lack any clear point or direction? It’s one of those poems that WANTS you to analyze, talk about it and try to figure out what it means, but it’s JUST vague and disjointed enough that nothing ever REALLY seems to fit. Lots of themes about death and the afterlife and karma
you know, the call about the beach in france makes me wonder if hiloqo based the game off of that case where a bunch of garfield phones got washed up on a french beach over the span of 30 years.

It's one thing to pick up random phone calls, it's another to pick up random rotary phones you find by the seashore.
I really wonder what it's like in that phone. You get to do push ups and even find puzzle pieces there.

Not sure if you’ve ever heard of the game but you should check out the visual novel “raging loop” it’s a mix of the anime when they cry, the social game werewolves and VLR, essentially it’s a game of werewolves but there is a flowchart and the main charchters remembers information from when he dies. It’s a good 30-50 hours depending on if you do everything. And it is has a pretty damn cool new game plus mode! Also its on Nintendo switch PS4 and steam!
There are 10,000 possible combinations of 4 digits using numbers 0-9 with repetition, and only 5,040 combinations without repetition.

Man, how this phone looks reminds me of the old french edutainment game Forestia. That was a game for little kids, and it shouldn't have been horror, but it was the creepiest game I've EVER played. Not only some of the chapters were genuinely eerie, like building a rocking horsie in an empty attic, with not much light and eerie silence, or downright TERRIFYING like that one nightmare chapter with all the creatures you've encountered so far being dead or rendered soulless or stuff like that... You won't find a creepier game in my opinion.
