He said he works for Deloite, so at fair price for the title that is 6 figures in US dollars salary that he should have. Obviously as a young African man he is still building his fortune so he wasn't rich to be able to splurge blindly, he said he checked his finances but recognized the opportunity and went for it.. this is awesome because he stays African and I feel he will develop businesses to create industries and not just stay with high salary.. we need 5 millions young Africans like him in the next 5 years.

Nigerians prefer a certain type of architecture that's quite different from SA styles. Bungalows play no part in Nigerian architectural sensibilities. A typical modern Nigerian house is imposing, and characterised by 2 storeys ''with columns in front, hipped roof, large windows with copings and concrete fascia or a block of flats with gable or hipped roofs, balconies and in some cases exterior wall tiling'', as described by an expert. True, the day Tayo go to Kwazulu-Natal or Western Cape you will see the most beautiful houses in Africa, theres a $25 million house that was build recently in western cape you must go there and see it.

Buying to renovate offers the best bang for the buck. Most people actually do that in the older suburbs, the positive is the big land (+5000sqm) that come with these older houses, especially the houses in my favorite suburb of Northcliff.
Love the old houses, so spacious. I also bought one of those, big sized rooms and erf size.
I fully concur with you my brother,in fact it's my greatest passion to buy these old houses and flip them,it brings great satisfaction in me.But, hey this young man has done it all for me,his house is so magnificent beyond my imagination.

Luxury is not only high end fancy finishes which this house has by the way just in a different farm house style. Luxury is about the amenities as well not many houses can have a gigantic master bathroom with a indoor jecuzzi and very large home gym that is a luxury.

Not cheap by South African standards. The Johannesburg North, where the house is located, is generally more expensive than other areas. A similar house in Johannesburg South or East will cost much less, especially a house that needed some work to be done on it.
@Sthembiso I suppose I'm looking at it through Australian eyes. A comparible house in Sydney would probably start around $1.2 million.

Randburg is area with a lot of Nigerians and Zimbabweans. It’s a nice area with a lot of immigrants
