I believe the conference was once called the Big 8, added 4 teams and became the Big Twelve. Lost a couple of teams to the Big Ten and then could not change the number in their name to conflict with the big 10.
We lost 1 to the Big 10 (NU) and 1 to what was then the Pac 10 (CU) A year later we lost 2 (MU and TAMU) to the SEC and added 1 from the Big East (WVU) and 1 fron the Mountain West (TCU) But yeah it was the Big 8 until adding 4 Texas teams (UT, BU, TAMU, and TTU) from the old SWC in the 90s creating the Big 12 which was going smoothly until Texas messed everything up
The Big 12 was a partial merger of the Big 8 and Southwest Conferences. all the Big 8 schools OU, OSU, CU, KU, KSU, ISU, MU, and UN and the 4 Texas schools UT, A&M, Baylor, and Texas Tech. Then CU (PAC 12), UM (SEC) UN (Big 10), and A&M (SEC) left in the early 2010's. The partial merger left TCU, SMU, Rice, and Houston without a conference home. Without Deuce McBride and Derrick Culver who went to the pros, WVU is still a Top 30 team and will get better with all the depth Huggs recruited.

It really was the Big 12 before Colorado left for the PAC12, Nebraska headed to the BIG10, and Missouri defected to the SEC. Now, Texas and Oklahoma are leaving in three years, too. :(
Lol. You're not quite up on what happened. Nebraska left first, then Colorado and the following year Missouri and Texas Tech. The conference then brought in West Virginia and TCU. Not that I give a crap about KSU playing Mizzou (trailers), but a much much bigger rivalry is being renewed this season. Nebraska will play Oklahoma which during the 70's, 80's and early/mid 90's was one of the five top rivalries in CFB. K-State and Missouri are pathetic losers.
UPDATE: As it turns out, Oklahoma and Texas have decided to join the Southeastern conference. But added Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, Utah, Central Florida, Houston, Brigham Young, and Cincinnati.
The Big 12 currently only have 10 teams which is odd because Missouri and Texas A&M left for the SEC, Colorado to the Pac 12, and Nebraska to the Big 10. In the same year both 4 of those teams left the conference. 2 new teams joined. TCU and West Virginia. Soon Texas and Oklahoma are leaving the Big 12 for the SEC, so it would seem we would have 8, but in 2023, 4 teams will join the Big 12! Those teams are Cincinnati, Houston, Central Florida, and Brigham Young! So soon we will back to 12!
And the same year that UT and OU are leaving for the SEC, Arizona, Arizona State, Utah, and Colorado are joining the Big 12 to make it a 14 team conference.
Need to do a update soon, big 12 goes to 14 this season then back to 12 next season. Big 10 goes to 16. SEC goes to 16. ACC stays at 14 and Pac 12 goes to 10. AAC also explains to 14 alone with Sunbelt at 14. C-USA add the most new Stadium in d1 with 3 FCS new teams and Liberty and NMSU joining.

I disagree...I think it actually looks worse. Been there a few times. Disgusting bathrooms, no parking and terrible football except when they play Texas
Can you do the SWAC (South Western Athletic Conference) conference next??
You where showing the old pictures of kansas state😑
Let's Go Mountaineers!!!
9/4 Is coming!

On October 29 at 7 pm, WVU kicks off its basketball season with an exhibition game against Akron. Then on November 9 and 12, WVU hosts Oakland (MI) and the Pitt Panthers, respectively. The Coliseum will be crazy on that Saturday night when Pitt comes to town. Without Deuce McBride and Derrick Culver who went to the pros, WVU is still a Top 30 team and will get better with all the depth Huggs recruited.
I’ve been to 4 of these… where are you from and where do you live now?
I see now… Australia. I’m assuming Sydney area because of all the rugby league stuff. Fun fact, I have played rugby at Kansas states old football stadium. Love the channel!
It really was the Big 12 before Colorado left for the PAC12, Nebraska headed to the BIG10, and Missouri defected to the SEC. Now, Texas and Oklahoma are leaving in three years, too. :(
In a few years when the realignment goes into effect, the Big 12 will have 12 teams
well time to update this. Cincy, BYU, Houston, and UCF have now joined.
A sooner was a cheater in the land run. Before the land run they went ahead and staked land. Hence the sooner
Lol the big 12 had 12 teams before mizzou & Texas a&m left for the SEC😂
Still sad they left. I miss having k state play them almost every year
@@kcksutx4816 Mizzou visits the Little Apple next fall!
Colorado, Mizzou, and A&M left.
@@estimatedprophethawk well yeah true I left them out lol. I just stated the last to leave
OU's stadium has been completely closed in since 2017
2016*
@@Saturdayz_In_The_Fall got plenty of pics if you need em. Been season ticket holder in south end zone for 22 years.

UPDATE: As it turns out, Oklahoma and Texas have decided to join the Southeastern conference. But added Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, Utah, Central Florida, Houston, Brigham Young, and Cincinnati.
Yeah Kyle field which is the Texas aggies used to be in the big 12
We need an update on all of the conferences
Google earth needs to update the Texas Tech pics
Please do Pac-12 and Big 10 stadiums. Thank you.
You jynxed the PAC12
There's a dog buried under OU's field. I'm not sure why I know this.
OU's first mascot
Is it Jimmy Hoffa's dog possibly?
Need to do a update soon, big 12 goes to 14 this season then back to 12 next season. Big 10 goes to 16. SEC goes to 16. ACC stays at 14 and Pac 12 goes to 10. AAC also explains to 14 alone with Sunbelt at 14. C-USA add the most new Stadium in d1 with 3 FCS new teams and Liberty and NMSU joining.
Jones AT&T Stadium will be upgrading the South endzone soon.
Why do they use such old photos and footage?
the footage on BSFS is old. the south end zone is finished and the north has been done for 2 seasons
Didn’t even mention the big screen in Stillwater
Boone Pickens stadium is oriented East/West due to the (crazy) prevailing north/south winds
Oklahoma's stadium actually seats a littlw over 86,000 after renovations and hosts the nation's longest sellout streak
?? they do not have the longest sellout streak nebraska’s is like 400 games going back to 1961
@@mrclean30 it’s a different technicality. Nebraska’s is by tickets sold, Oklahoma’s is by attendance
Make that Big 8....7....6...and so on.
Do a liga Mx stadiums!
Go Frogs!🐸
The Sooner stadium is not accurate, it is enclosed now. Has Ben for a couple years.
Oklahoma Sooner stadium is old, the two open ends are no longer open its now a complete stadium
