Thank you for another amazing video 🙂..I got so excited to see the BT edition. However I've been holding off from buying this radio because of the micro USB charging 🫤. I know it's alittle thing but when everyone is switching to type C its just enough of a dealbreaker for me. I will just have to keep watching your videos in hopes of seeing a new review and release of this radio finally switching to type C 😀 and then I will jump to buy one....again thank you so much for your informative videos 🙂
Hi Todderbert, thanks for the review. The new CCrane CC radio solar, now with Bluetooth, is very nice. But I agree with others here that it's a bit of a shame that this new version isn't upgraded with a USB-C jack. It should have been, considering what this radio costs. But apart from that, this seems to be a very nice radio, and I don't have the original CCrane solar radio either. So yes, I would love to have this radio. Take care Todderbert and have a lovely evening.
Thanks for reviewing radios sir. This is something only you do on TH-cam. May you please suggest three radios which, according to you, have best AM receptions?
Geez Louise! I’ve been struggling for a week about which type of radio I want to buy. This one checks off nearly all of the boxes. Wish the Pocket Crane gets updated with BT too. Out in rural Alaska, it’d be nice to hear saved podcasts out on the trails.
I use a Prunus J-328 pocket radio for my Old Time Radio Shows. It plays them nice and strong, so I can wear it in my vest pocket while it is playing, and I don't need to wear headphones. Once in a while I have to reach in to turn it down when another person is passing by.
Cool video and nice review. You have to help me out. That first song you played on Bluetooth is something I use to have long ago but I can’t remember exactly who it is. What band/song is it? Almost sounds like Down, Fudge Tunnel, Sleep or something.
Bluetooth is definitely an advantage because it can charge a phone or flashlight or other small items. However, considering that it is an emergency radio, it would make sense to have the most currently ubiquitous charging capabilities namely USB-C. 🤷♂️
Sangean makes a great radio, they just need to figure out that most people want an easily replaced battery. Viewers will agree that having a Dry Battery Bay Option is also a wise choice.
I actually didn't check this, but I would say to use the AAs for radio use only. BT takes a bit of extra energy to run on most radios, and most companies say to use the lithium battery if they included a dry battery bay as well.

Couldn’t agree more! The upgrade or next gen priority should definitely be USB-C charging.
Come on C Crane! 😅
@@onedirection3510 They made the major leap from mini to micro on the Skywave models :)
Since they included the micro USB charging cable it wasn't an issue for me.

I subscribed to your channel today, sir. It a pleasure to have found you on TH-cam. This is Dinesh from Gurgaon, a city in India near New Delhi.
Waiting for this one to appear on the Amazon store
Hopefully soon.

Thanks for another great video.😢 was wondering if you can use Bluetooth headphones to listen to the radio?
Not this radio, but there a few that have just come to market from other companies such as Prunus.
Great job on the Video. Looks like ill have to wait for Amazon to catch up in Canada. Also 209 bucks is really steep cost.
Hopefully soon, I thought C.Crane was good with Canada on pricing.

Most emergency radios don't feature USB-C output yet. Would be nice to see in this generation.
@@todderbert Most... but the Sangean MMR-99 *DOES*. Still have it, still love it.
The Sangean MMR-99 also has Bluetooth, and street price is around the same.

Let me know when this has a type C USB
Keep watching, C.Crane has a few things in the works.
How much is this radio? The only thing about rubber cased radios, is that the rubber starts to deteriorate as the radio 📻 ages. Your friend, Jeff.
Does Bluetooth work when using AA batteries? I didn't have time to watch the whole video.

Is it bluetooth receiving only? Or will it also bluetooth send? Such as sending it's radio audio to bluetooth headphones.
Just Receive at this point. In the future I don't see why we can have Send. Other radios are now getting this feature, and it is nice.
What’s your mp3 player?
an old sony 4GB model, tiny thing with a failing battery.
IS THIS RADIO WORK IN TAMILNADU? WHAT COST ?
Probably, but not sure of cost. You can look them up and email them directly.

How do you see the chinese radios
When designed, and overseen by an American Company, not bad at all.
They are the dominant makers and innovators of radios. Brands like Tecsun, XHData, Sangean, Sihuadon and Qodosen make fantastic products.
Not being type c is a pass for me dawg
Bummer Dude. Totally agree on the type c, it is a missed opportunity. I believe it will get a revision with it though.
@@todderbert hope so! Keep up the great work!
