Great video. Everything I needed to know. Thinking about getting a Harbor Freight bench mount drill press to use with it…

That will be a great set up. The tool is really easy to use when horizontally which may influence your decision. Do HF sell a mini lathe? That would be extremely useful.

@@brianpage36 I purchased the HF drill press that’s under $100. Seems like it was on sale for about $80. The main top section can be removed by loosening two set screws, and the up/down handles unscrew. With this done I just lay it on its side on a towel. Works great, and can be reassembled quickly if needed.

That price is just a little over what you would pay for a hand held drill. Well done! The trimmer is not really sensitive to RPM. People are saying that I am running mine a little too slow in the video. I agree with that. Just pick a speed that your brass likes. Get trimming!

To answer Bart's question, the priming tool is an old Sinclair.

Demonstrator did not show measurement to prove accuracy. Too much work having to turn the brass back and forth while machine is turning.. Also looks very difficult having to hold on by hand. Then he recommends using another holder to make it easier. and on and on. /Too much trouble.

If you think that is too much trouble reloading probably isn't the hobby for you. You can manually cut a couple thousand cases on a hand trimmer that is twice the price. (assuming you have a cordless drill)

You only need to turn the case 1/4 - 1/2 turn at the very end to finalize squaring the cut. No need to turn it throughout the trim.

My experience with a lathe is good except swarf will end up in the indexing portion and not let case fully seat. Had to keep cleaning with a cotton swab. Vertical in a drill press is actually easier with less stopping. Modify some pliers with V-groove of aluminum or wood as a holding tool and go to town.
