    I don't even understand the rules of rugby, but I love how the players totally respect the referee (exactly the opposite of football)... 🤦🏽‍♂️

      Laws of rugby. This one is Rugby League, the other popular version is Rugby Union. Football is full of overpaid prima donnas and is still more popular than Aussies Rules, Gaelic Football, Rugby Union,Rugby League and US Football. Amazing.

    He's penalised Roberts for pushing O'Loughlin, which is fair enough. But O'Loughlin runs across Robert's line, which should have been a penalty to Cas. This was a game of incredibly fine margins, and once again the 'big boys' get to do what they want for 80 minutes.

      spot on, Thaler makes an awful decision, it's clear SoL is obstructing the Cas player in the first instance.

    And this is the clip I get in arguments with with rugby fans and why the referees need to bin captains in this situation (and in things like persistent infringment, etc.)...
    Otherwise, what obligation do I, as a captain, have to control the player?

    • @ragerancher
      @ragerancher 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because if you don't the team starts losing players and then you have to explain to the coach why as captain you sat back doing nothing just because you personally were not getting punished.

    • @michaelfalkner1186
      @michaelfalkner1186 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ragerancher Who does the coach hold responsible?
      Sorry, if it's the captain's responsibility to control his players, then HE needs to be binned if and when applicable.
      Otherwise, the referee is out of line to make that comment.

    • @ragerancher
      @ragerancher 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@michaelfalkner1186 that is complete nonsense, is the captain's responsibility to control the players and only the captain is supposed to speak to the ref, that doesn't mean the captain gets binned of another layer infringes, that's idiotic.

    • @michaelfalkner1186
      @michaelfalkner1186 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ragerancher Then of what worth is the responsibility? To me, if I'm a referee, and I tell a captain it's his responsibility, then he can be sanctioned for failing to uphold it.

    • @ragerancher
      @ragerancher 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@michaelfalkner1186 no because it doesn't work that way. Only the captain should be talking to the ref so it is their job to ensure the message is being put across to the team, that doesn't mean he should be punished for the actions of another.
      When the ref tells the captain to control a player that is a criticism of the player, not the captain. It's a way of saying the player isn't listening to the ref and giving the team a chance to sort him out and avoid a card.
      Seriously do you even watch rugby? You talk like someone who doesn't know what the role of the captain is.

    Like has been tormenting Ben for years, anyone that's grown up in the West Yorkshire rugby league heartland knows that at a certain level everyone knows everyone and there are very strong mutterings that luke has something over ben because he's got away with a lot including making contact on Ben in numerous games and they weren't accidental if you've seen them. Not good really, but Ben reffed a game of mine at under 18's (Ben is the same age as me) and my God he spoke to us like garbage, he's always been very arrogant and still talks down to players, respect works both ways he enjoys his bit of power
