    Thanks for the free vacation ! Seriously we enjoyed it so much. We had tuff times with elderly parents for the last few years and you aloud us to escape for the afternoon. Again keep them coming. Big thumbs up ! The wife and I are wanting to build an Excalibur ultra lite so this keeps us dreaming and learning.

      You are basically applying a layer of wax to the glass. As long as you buff the "wax" to a non-hazy finish, you get that Rain-X result. Rain-X is just chemically designed to better resist washing away.

    Yeah, I had a flight instructor who told us a story when he was still a young pilot and found himself stuck above a cloud cover on a VFR flight. The only thing close to landing was a military base. They actually had to talk him down and landed him on their runway. They instructed him to stay in the plane and they came out and towed the plane to a hanger. They did intimidate him and made him pretty scared. Needless to say he never climbed on top of weather on VFR again. LOL
    BTW your music is supper good.
    And your intro is excellent. 3 seconds and then video. Love it.

    Great scenery! On the way to KOSH you should stop in KLCG. Great fuel prices and Nebraska friendly all around. All pretty newly rebuilt after a tornado a few years ago. The only downside is the grass strip is closed this year (though only part of it, there’s probably still plenty for the cub).

    • @flycory
      @flycory  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There was a tornado about 4 miles away from me while I was flying home on THIS video! I didn't see it, due to clouds and terrain, but it was crazy! if you want to check out the tornado, google "tornado over strawberry reservoir 2018"
      Thanks for the fuel stop idea! I absolutely love Nebraska. I usually go a bit further north on the way TO Oshkosh due to some pals I visit along the way, but the way home I fly the entire length of Nebraska. I love it. We're leaving from a bit further south (Spanish Fork) this year, so we will likely skirt a good portion of the northwestern part of your state, so I'll look for KLCG on foreflight right now!
      Thanks for watching, let me know what you like to see more of, or what you don't like so I can get better! Again, thanks for watching and commenting, its awesome!

You’ve done desert flying, mountain flying, island hoping, cross country dealing with weather, taking never flown before people flying “which is awesome 😊” and the willingness to share all this is incredible. So my feeling is keep on doing what your doing! Your an incredible example of what this life of a private pilot is all about. Its all about the adventures and living life to the fullest.

      Holy cow! Be sure to let me know how it went! I remember my first venture away from my home airport! It’s a HUGE milestone! I was so terrified of getting lost. (Oh the good old days of VORs and maps!)
      Great stuff!

      Cory Robin I will. Leaving soon. Terrified indeed. VORs ready in my back pocket. 😊

      Nothing to see here - Yeah, I wasn't allowed to use my gps or tablet when training. The funny part was after I did my checkride, which I had to fly 35 minutes away to get to (solo), I pulled out the tablet then realized I didn't need it. I still pretty much use my ole KLN 90B gps for reference and check the tablet sometimes for the Bravo airspace we are around. Knock em dead!

      Done . It went very well. A couple of go arounds at the little airport due to gusty winds and a narrow runway, but greased the 3rd attempt. 152nm KADS - > KSLR - > F00 - > KADS. Feeling great today. ✈

      Well. My name is Ged.
      So I get called Gedi quite a bit
      But my nickname is Spock.
      So. It’s both my nicks in one.
      I had a VW transporter that I used to take my band to Vulcan. Which is a rehearsal studio in Liverpool. England.
      Transporter + Vulcan = Spock.
      My dog is Leonard. (Nimoy)👊😂
      Thanks very much for your channel Cory.
      Love this channel and the rest of the flying cowboys.
      Thanks for taking us along.
      I absolutely love all these videos.
      Very inspiring.
      I haven’t flown for 30 years.
      I trained as an RAF mechanic in the 80’s.
      But it didn’t work out for me.
      I got PTSD from a car accident.
      And that was that.
      But I’ve always wanted to get my PPL.
      My Grandad flew Mosquito in WWII.
      I still have all his flight logs and a big picture of one on my wall.
      He was a headcase in his day.
      And would have loved these STOL planes.
      One thing he said to me.
      The best thing about flying.
      He’d fly over to Germany at night.
      Avoid getting killed.
      And then he would catch the sunrise over the English Channel.
      Which was when he knew he was safe.
      Then he would land.
      And watch the sunrise again across the airfield. As he walked to the mess for breakfast.
      At the end of the war. He buzzed a German train station at 300mph. 50ft.
      As there were 100’s of British and American personnel being sent home.
      So he did that a few times. And they went absolutely mental.
      He got six weeks in the glasshouse for that. (Jail) 😂😂😂
      When they let him out. They presented him with a load of medals before discharging him. .
      Winston had asked them to bomb civilians in their beds. Dresden.
      My Grandad dropped all his bombs in the sea.
      Told Winston to stuff his medals up his arse.
      But what a cool last flight.
      300mph @ 50ft.
      Crowd cheering.

      I told my Mrs about the flight over the mountains.
      And the approach into salt lake.
      She ended up watching it. 👊😂
      Beautiful bit of film that mate.

    I think someone was smiling down on you that last leg home. BTW, what cameras are you using. Nice stable footage. My gopro has major wobble.

    • @flycory
      @flycory  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Eric Muetterties I made my own wing mount. It does decent. GoPro 6 for most of the stuff. I also have a camcorder with stabilization. Links in the video description if you want to check it out.
      What mount are you running?

    • @ericmuetterties1984
      @ericmuetterties1984 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cory Robin I have a gopro mount bolted to an inspection panel. Might be because there is no flex in the mount. Hero 4 camera. Inside, when I do it, I use my Nikon D800. It's the outside footage that has the wobble.

    • @flycory
      @flycory  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ahh. Yeah, your airframe is transferring all the vibration to the camera.
      I’ll do a DIY GoPro mount video. Mine was about $20 and is great.
      Mostly I couldn’t abide a $180 GoPro mount! So I designed my own. ;)
