Apology regarding allegations of unauthorised boarding.
We would like to provide details and apologise for the video released this time regarding a possible unauthorised boarding method. We sincerely apologise.
    Contents
The video clip showed Series 400 and 30000a trains running on the Osaka Metro Chuo Line. As we planned to ride the train several times, we purchased an 'Enjoy Eco Card', which allows unlimited rides on the Osaka Metro for one day, and we were riding from Hommachi Station to Ikoma Station, and then from Ikoma Station to Cosmosquare Station on the return trip.
However, a comment from a viewer pointed out that part of the Osaka Metro Chuo Line is owned by Kinki Railway (Nagata Station to Ikoma Station) and the Enjoy Eco Card does not apply to this section.
In order to confirm this fact, we made enquiries to Osaka Metro and Kinki Railways and received a response that boarding on the relevant section of the line was illegal. We should have paid the fare to Kinki Railways, but this time we were only instructed to be careful in the future.
The mistake was due to the fact that I did not know that the Osaka Metro Chuo Line partially switches to Kinki Railways, and that I had an unlimited-ride ticket, so I mistakenly thought that it would not be a problem to turn around and board the train.
In future, when purchasing an all-you-can-ride ticket, we will check whether another operator is involved and also ensure that passengers go through the ticket gate once when getting off the train.
We deeply apologise for the inconvenience caused to many of you. We would also like to thank everyone for their valuable suggestions.

I was impressed by the Osaka Metro not because it was new and futuristic, but how well it maintained its trains even when it's old. When I rode one a few years ago, the train was made in the early 70s but it looked just like brand new.

@@mi12no Typical "my country is too big" argument. The US once had the world's most robust passenger rail network, heck much of the country only came to be because of rail. Of course things like high speed rail might not be practical from coast to coast, but there are many individual regions that could benefit greatly since next to nobody travels the whole dang country on a regular basis. For instance, California is about the length of Japan while actually having to contend with fewer geographical boundaries and challenges compared to the land of the rising sun.
Furthermore, a very large percentage of trips that Americans take are within just 5 miles, another very sizable chunk are 5-10 miles, but still, the majority of trips are within JUST TEN MILES. Those are perfectly acceptable distances to walk, cycle, use busses, trams, trains, metros, subways, etc.

Full screen doors are a technology that has already been applied in Korea and other countries for a long time. (Especially Koreans are often confused because almost all elevators in Korea have full screen doors.) The world's first full screen door introduced in the video is a sliding platform screen door, which means that the entire screen door moves. As you can see in the video, in a normal screen door, only the transparent door moves and the black door is fixed, but at 16:12, both the transparent and black doors move. Since there are so many railroad companies in Japan, it is not possible to install a generalized standard screen door because each railroad is different, and the doors are also different (the places where the doors are located are all different). Therefore, the sliding platform screen door was developed and created so that the entire screen door can move to accommodate all train doors. (To put it simply, a standard screen door requires the train to fit the door, but the screen door in the video allows the door to fit the train) This is technically the world's first screen door, but I wish it was explained in the video or post so that foreigners wouldn't have questions.

I managed to catch the 400 series when I was at Osaka, travelling from Hommachi to Cosmo Square. I was surprised to see the train arrive and didn't expect it would be the 400 series. I like the name G-Shock haha.
I haven' actually tried using Haruka limited express before, as I used either JR Kuko Line or the ferry to Kobe airport. Maybe next time, If i have a chance I will try Haruka.

Oh! You are a very lucky person! It is a miracle that you can ride the 400 series. The probability of meeting and even getting on it is very low! It's wonderful!
I think HARUKA is better to go to Umeda or Shin-Osaka from Kansai Airport. If you want to go to Namba or Shinsaibashi, I think Rapito is better.
I heard that Rapito is very popular now and it is very difficult to get a reservation. haruka is relatively empty and comfortable ✨.

I rode the Osaka subway in May 2023, before the introduction of this new Series 400. Compared to Tokyo and Kyoto where the subway platforms and station and trains seem so clean and well cared for, Osaka felt old and dirty. Even the trains seemed a generation behind Tokyo. My first visit in 2016 had the same feelings. Overall, to me, Osaka overall is just a big slightly unkept city. Whereas Tokyo and Kyoto have a cleaner "vibe" with so many more interesting things for visitors like me. The only reason we returned to Osaka is because of the airport to fly back to Haneda then home. There is no airport in Kyoto, forcong a one night stay in Osaka.

I found the subway to be clean tho, plus its also reliable. If you are referring to old and dirty, do you mean only the city itself?
With Expo 2025 fast approaching, it is expected that all of the remaining numbered two-digit series trains on lines other than the Midosuji, Tanimachi, and Chuo lines will also be replaced with newer rolling stock.
