Clean voice? Hell, Johannes can give Halford a complex with his clean scream as well as melting young girls hearts with his soft voice.
Johannes being mentioned with Halford’s 5- octave range is just flat embarrassing.
Love Avatar, love your reaction. So... The vocalist, Johannes, I swear he has 10 different singing voices. His screams are amazing and well controlled, and his cleans can be almost operatic at times. He is the master of expression in his voice. All of them are super talented. All songs are different.
Yes that was a gas can. Yes it's water.
And certainly they have amazing stage presence. If you ever hear him give a little speech on stage, you'll see another way of engaging the crowd.
Most of the songs are not scream all the way, and some not at all. Seriously check out Bloody Angel, New Land.
Oh and they really are nice guys too.

Hands down the catchiest line of the song is "All flesh is equal when burned"...if only more people realized this in their day to day lives...

Johannes has an insane range, check out "Smells Like A Freakshow", "Bloody Angel" and "Reload".
Live version of Bloody Angel at Polandrock 2019 by Avatar has the cleans/screams. Screamo is a genre of music not to be confused with the technique of screaming or growls. It’s insulting be called that outside of the genre.
I would suggest the video instead. It's an amazing video who is needed to really understand the song, but it also of course sounds better.
@@nussekuddenxxx6564 yeah I thought about that too. I had to flip a coin to figure which one to suggest. Their just theatrical when they play live, it’s amazing to watch. But the video does have so much to offer. Ugh!!!
screamo is not a genre, it is a catch all term people seem to love using when referring to any metal with harsh vocals they do not know how to categorize. There is no screamo band. The word actually started as an insult. Obviously not everyone means it in an insulting manner, but it is not a valid descriptor of any metal genre (including all the "core" genres)
@@ryantannar5301 screamo is an aggressive sub genre of emo that formed in the 90’s. Also called skramz emphasizing in willfully experimental dissonance and dynamics. The term has been confused with any vocals with screaming lyrics. Bands The Used Poison the Well, Hawthorne Heights are examples.
@@guttergods8735 wow is there a whole subgenre I haven't found? In my experience everything people call screamo if they are not just totally lost when it comes to metal (you the know ones, they say Slayer is screamo) but actually have some grasp ends up actually being some kind of post hardcore

I would recomend The Secret Door off of their newest album they released last year. there is a lyric video and an official video, the Offical is trippy. And they just announced a US tour for this year.

Hearing and seeing are way different....seeing them live in worth it
my favorite because it reminds me of old 80s metal combined with their style is the king welcomes you to avatar country, johannes voice hits a bunch of ranges on that one.

What I like most in this song is the riff by the chorus.
What I think is most interesting and great with Avatar is their wideness in musical styles, with really low and heavy death metal vibes, melodic and sometimes even bluesy or country vibing rock n roll and ofcource the great live show.
The singer Johannes Eckerström handles a wide range of teqnicues as clean, scream, growl, classic rock and heavy metal styles in a fabouless way.
Also they have some great videos.

I've seen these guys live twice the past few years, the greatest metal shows I've ever been to. Hopefully they can tour the states again soon.
On one TH-cam channel i left a comment that Avatar could be the inventors of a genre ) Circus-metal ) Well - their performance IS a real show and i love watching them - they give that sort of energy you just can not resist )

Love the music...not a fan of vocals. Screamo isn't my thing; the most I can do is from Hanzel und Gretel. Stage energy is incredible!

please do a reaction on A Secret Door, or Wormhole.... (heavy one!) Avatar is such a good band and i wish they could get more radio play. Radio stations in Arizona are utter CRAP!
