Absolutely criminal how underrated they are!! They should be headlining arenas at this point, this was the first exposure for me to Avatar!! I wish most bands put even an ounce of the effort these guys do in their live shows! Such showmanship and just incredible live!! Worth every penny.

In my opinion, this is the most psycho Johannes is live and my fave set thus far 😍 I keep coming back to it because I love it so much lol. Within one minute, I knew I was gonna be a fan and now they're my fave band. I'm sure my passion will wear off but I'm enjoying the circus ride while it's here 🤡 How I've NEVER heard the name or seen any t-shirt or CD being sold is beyond me (and I've loved extreme metal for almost 25 years!) UNDERRATED indeed ugh. Was lucky enough to see them in September (and met Johannes!) and I cannot wait to see them again. Do yourself a huge fave and go see them when they're close to you! They do not disappoint 😀
Sevendust is another band that really just elevates their performance live, vs. in-studio. Songs that are good, but not great turn into absolute bangers in concert. I think with some bands, it's literally being able to feel the rhythm of the song pounding through you in a way that you can't when you're just using headphones. (Plus, at least in the case of Sevendust, they play everything about a half-step faster and a half note lower, so it adds a level of power.)
Just realized, Avatar is the closest thing to a real life Dethklok. I know that "Dethklok" plays live and all, but Avatar are like there own versions of the characters........and i mean that as a compliment.
If I am in a sad, frustrated, hopeless mood I listen to Avatar and got euphoric angry, same time happy and a bit aggressive. Really weird and funny how it works 😂 thank you guys ❤
They’re so much better in a small venue with a thousand people in the crowd. That saying, they’re not bad with a big crowd, but as a spectator, I think smaller venues are much better for them. The whole experience is just so much more intense with the lightning, sound, crowd interaction etc.
Yes, definitely! Unfortunately, truth be told... they just aren't that good live with their *music* - but they compensate for it a lot with their energy, character and stage presence. However, that works best with small/medium sized crowds - closer up, more personal.

True, but Johannes has to warm up (offstage) before a show. It's quite elaborate. There's a vid he talked about it somewhere. Eight octave voice like Mercury and Halford. The whole band is so disciplined, and hard working. I like HTA and Black Waltz albums . Have Fun in May !

Their live show can't be bettered by anyone, seriously. They put it out there every night. I don't know where they get their energy from, but we need to tap into that and bottle that up!
This is the vid that started it for me back in Feb and I was in love within the 1st minute. Now they're one of my fave bands! They're the whole package for me: killer stage presence, makeup, theatrics, killer guitar tones, Johannes looking like Eric Draven 🤤, they're all hot actually lol, killer guitar tones, killer talent, from Sweden, I could go on but won't lol And yeah I keep coming back to it too but haven't counted how many times. The first time I saw this recording, it was a few years old by then, was when I fell in love Avatar! Amazing show & still outperforming themselves! Such a great show to see live almost 10 years later!! Finally had the opportunity about a year ago. I can r.i.p. now!
I was fortunate to see them live a few weeks ago. What an amazing show and an amazing experience it was! They said it was their 1000th live performance. This band has the entire package and that they aren't one of the biggest bands in the world is beyond me. I've seen thousands of bands at this stage in my life. In saying that, they are 2nd to none...
Man these guys are about the best out today. They’re better than any of the bands they open for. I’m a metal head from the early 80’s so I’ve seen a fair share of bands and these guys are right among the best.
Avatar is one of my favorite metal bands. They really blend some of my favorite things in heavy music. Groovy drums but still very hard hitting and fast, guitar/bass riffs are tasty as fuck, while being lead heavy and has amazing tone and tuning. Plus they have very good harmonics and solos. The vocals have that perfect blend of actually audible words and reeeeally harsh nice growls, and very nice clean vocals as well in parts. And then we have everything else as lyrics with great story telling, they have good humor and a wicked style/aesthetics with their whole circus/carnival style, great music videos. And then I can't stress this enough, their mix/production on records is fucking incredable! The drums sound big, punchy and natural. Like they cherry on top, they have an amazing show and perform so fucking well live! Johannes stage presence is electrifying!
They are live actually better then the studio recordings. I've seen them on FortaRock Nijmegen (Netherlands), it was a blast! One of a kind, go Avatar and Hail the King!
I can’t not put a like here! Seen them at least four times now and they always put on a perfect show! These guys deserve all the good fortune that comes their way and so much more!

The sound tech for the bassist wasnt scared that night. He had him dialed in perfect. Can easily hear those beefy licks.
