    Dae Han is actually Simon Rhee the older brother of Phillip Rhee and James Lew is Sae Jin Kwon, Alex's opponent. The other team members from Korea are all accomplished martial artists including the coach, Cho He Il. In terms of casting, the producers really got the best from the best.

    • @Kevlar-lz5cu

      Technically i think so. I notice that when breaking a baseball bat, you aim for the thinnest spot of the bat which is closer to the handle than the tip.

    • @danielhaire6677
      @danielhaire6677 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you can. It used to be a stable of martial arts demos to showcase the power of techniques. Baseball bats with shins, cinder and ice blocks with fists, 2x4s with the feet, opening wine bottles with chops. Nowadays, the 720s and 960s look nice and flashy, but they don't have the same raw sense of power shown in those older demos.

    BOTB might be "the best" martial artis film. Did so much well...like how they hyped the Korean team. Oddly, they didn't do the same for the American team. Why? They should have shown the actors being trained uniquenly to develop their strengths and address their weaknesses. They didn't dot hat. We don't know what the others do but Tommy is a teacher and Alex works in a factory, so I'm sure they don't keep up with the goings on off fighters on the other side of the globe that they would never fight. As for Tommy and Dae Han. A lot is made of Dae Han's age. Tommy assumes that he is retired at this point because of his age. Pretty simple really.

      Yeah, everyone did feel this way before UFC 1.
      I am sure you did too.
      But to give credit to the movie, the sequel did introduce the concept of ground fighting when it had a submission wrestler.
      The film came out in 1993, the exact same year of UFC 1.
      Phillip Rhee, who played Tommy and produced both films, was fully aware of grappling back then.
