Very nice, I have both the tx16s and the Zorro, and I’m sure that this new radio will be another winner from Radiomaster. They are really stepping up to be the number one radio maker in the world.
@@typxxilps , unless you’re flying more than an hour and a half, or on crossfire for more than a half an hour and going over 10 miles, you’re going to get more than enough battery life with the Zorro. Also you can still get the basic Radiomaster tx@6s, so that you’re not paying a hell of a lot of money for a great radio. In other words I believe you’re wrong in my humble opinion.
Indeed, you have both cheaper/basic and expensive/premium ends of TX16S spektrum now. And the zorro battery life isn't an issue if you have the external charge lead, or use a USB powerbank to charge it. Just fits a different niche.

Lots of options as far as getting the 4 in 1 model, which would also get you options like the module bay in the back, meaning you could go crossfire, elrs or whatever protocol you’d want. Plus if you get the 4 in 1 model, you’ll be able to get quite a range of different models that have different protocols. And it’s not like a gamer console, in that it’s a bit bigger, yet not so big that you’re going to have trouble fitting it in your hands.
A receiver is the item that your radio talks to. You put a receiver in an RC Car, RC Boat, RC Helicopter, RC Drone, RC Plane so that your radio can send it on/off information. The receiver is what sends signals to the ESC and internal operating controller of your Car, Boat, Helicopter, Drone, Plane.
The T8 Pro does NOT support external modules. The bay on the back is strictly for the detachable screen. Just wanted to point that out to avoid confusion. 😃
Okay so the question i have is what drone do i buy to go with it. Im seriously thinking about getting this however i dont want to unless i have a drone that will connect, could you prehaps make a video on affordable drones that connect to the tx12 or just tell me which ones do. Im on a budget so around 100 or below would be best
It all depends on the RECEIVER. ELRS & CROSSFIRE are long range. This means you need to either have an ELRS or CROSSFIRE transmitter or add one of those modules to your radio.

@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Funny cause I just tried it out, so the SD card DOES store your models and everything, what it doesn’t store is the firmware for ELRS (in my case) I have my receivers in 3.0 ELRS and when I switched the SD card to my new TX12 it did have all my models but I did have to flash it to 3.0. ELRS means that whichever drone(s) you buy in the future must be ordered with an ELRS receiver in them. There is also a 4-in-1 chip version that lets you connect to many popular receivers but not ELRS or CROSSFIRE. To connect to those two, you'd need to buy the module that goes on the back of the radio.
The TX12 is an old radio. Have a look at the RADIOMASTER BOXER or JUMPER T14 (similar radio), or even the RADIOMASTER POCKET. All good for simulators and then perfect for actually flying FPV Drones.
Do I need to get a frsky module to bind to my nanohawk just getting into the hobby again after several years, and I think I miss understood the elrs version I was under the impression that it supported d8 but can’t figure out how to get it bound up

Real Flight is a Horizon Hobby thing right? Not sure if this would work. Just check to see if your software has an option to select controller type & calibrate it.
You would need a DSM/DSMX module and the Spektrum USB wireless dongle to work with Real Flight and the TX12. The TX16S 4in 1 has the DSM protocol so you would just need the usb wireless dongle for that one which is what I use. I don’t have links for the dongle because I bought it a few years ago sorry.
Another nice radio from radiomaster unfortunately it is only 250 MW whilst this will be fine for most pilots many of us actually appreciate higher power enjoyed your video very informative as always
If you want more than 250mw, you should be going external anyway, to have bigger heatsinking, fan and external battery tap. For all the park flyer and short range ELRS folks, internal 250mw is just fine.
@@pfeerick In theory yes. In practice No. Remember many "Park flyers" will be using the small ceramic, spi and even the new flat antennas in their smaller builds. Many of them will also be insisting on using 500hz. The combination of these will mean that in a small garden 250mw will be sufficient but in a park with perhaps obstacles such as shrubs trees and and other more solid objects then I've failsafed 250mw many times in my local park. 500mw or ideally 1w should be the standard goto power on these Tx without the need to add something else on the back. Even if a fan is needed its not an insurmountable task for them to achieve

I'm looking at the crux35. I actually bought two novice IV after you reviewed them long ago. They are still doing great btw

@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Actually the date is not furnished. What is furnished is vague, at best. For this video, "1 year". That means it was made just about the same time I bought my Boxer. Since you're quite knowledgeable on Radiomaster radios I figured you must have, at least heard of the Boxer. There seemed to be a lot of publicity on the Boxer at the time but not much recently. Makes me wonder if it was a flop.

Think of me as your next door neighbour who gets all the cool gear and shows you what it is and how it works. If I were a salesman I’d get paid a salary and would be hired off the street with no experience. However I’m super experienced and have to use my own unpaid time and use my own expensive camera gear and my own unpaid time editing videos. If it all looks easy to you, then I’m doing a good job.

I have the original TX12 and makes a great backup radio and I also use it for simulators. My go to radio is the TX16S.

I remember frsky taranis x9D plus.16ch radio.my favorite hobby radio.You can connect two receivers together and you get 32ch with taranis x9d plus.

Out of the box, you are correct. Sorry, I should have mentioned a hack is required for external modules.

This is an ELRS radio. Spektrum does not use ELRS technology.

ELRS only supports ELRS. If your nanohawk does not have an ELRS receiver in it, then an ELRS radio will not bind to it.

I use sliders with my RC planes to change LED lights or slide Flaps up and Down. You can use them for anything your imagination desires.

The ELRS version is not compatible. You’d need a radio with a 4 in 1 chip, and even then it is only partially compatible with Spektrum.

The TX12 was out long before the ZORRO. TX12 has long battery life and a few other differences, but also very similar to the ZORRO.

I would not use a radio of this style for RC CARS. RC TANKS yes, but not RC CARS (very hard to steer with such joysticks).

Su radio solo se conectará a un dron que tenga un receptor ELRS. Si desea conectarse a FRSKY, necesita una versión 4 en 1 de la radio.

When you watch any video on TH-cam the date the video was made is always shown at the bottom left (just below the video in the video description). I thought you were just being silly, I didn’t know you were serious and really didn’t know how old the video was.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Actually the date is not furnished. What is furnished is vague, at best. For this video, "1 year". That means it was made just about the same time I bought my Boxer. Since you're quite knowledgeable on Radiomaster radios I figured you must have, at least heard of the Boxer. There seemed to be a lot of publicity on the Boxer at the time but not much recently. Makes me wonder if it was a flop.

Cap do you have any gear or radios that you'd want to sell cap I'm in a hole and I want to fo fly so bad this summer most of the planes I fly are sub250 like the turbo timber x or the revolution I really want the hubu sts because it's my favorite jet however I know it's over 250 but the radio it comes with will help me so much in getting my dream umx crescendo lol any thing cap would help me big time I have money

@CAPTAINDRONE798 cap I know how people are buddy and it's a shame....but I'm not like that at all I know what I'm doing and better yet I'm not into bugging someone over a product I bought every in 5he hobby know about the "it's the nature of the hobby" when selling something and not goingbto get a refund or anything you have to be a hobbyist to understand that saying and mostly RESPECT that saying....so you have my ultimate word that I will not big you at all!!! Well may to go do some flying whenever I'm in Canada 🤣 but that's about the extent of it....I hope you can bend a little for a guy like me who's been a loyal sub for a long time and don't have the money like I wish I had to buy some of these beautiful planes /Jets....I would be honored to purchase something from you and I can 🤫🤐 and not tell a soul lol

Think of me as your next door neighbour who gets all the cool gear and shows you what it is and how it works. If I were a salesman I’d get paid a salary and would be hired off the street with no experience. However I’m super experienced and have to use my own unpaid time and use my own expensive camera gear and my own unpaid time editing videos. If it all looks easy to you, then I’m doing a good job.
