This video is definite proof that longer barrels make a massive difference in the shooters ability to be accurate. I was stuck deciding the other day when I traded in my G43 to go either 43X or 48. When I took the 48 to the range I knew for SURE that I made the right choice.

Gotta say, Canadian lawmakers must have great taste in guns, because the Glock 48 is perfectly sized for both carry and shooting. I dislike 3 inch barrels on a carry gun. The G48 is just perfectly sized and ergonomic. If it were any smaller, I don’t think I’d enjoy shooting it as much. Here in the US, I have my pick of micro 9 mm and I choose the G48 too. It also has more than adequate capacity for any civilian purpose.

I don't have a 43x, but I do have a P365 and my g48 is more comfortable than the 365 as the shorter slide digs into my hip, the 48 doesn't. But this may be totally the opposite for aiwb. Maybe the shorter slide would be better for that.

I just got the 11:15 mark and, Eric, you said you'd rather just carry a 19. I can attest that the slim profile of the 48 over the 19 has a made a massive difference in my ability to comfortably carry. I used to carry a G19 before I went to the 43 (now 48). The 19 was always in my way because of the thickness. The G48, so far, has worked perfectly for me carrying at the 3 oclock strong side IWB. It stays out of the way in situations where the 19 would bump around.

    • @fakecubed

And now you can get 15 round steel mags that are the same exact size as Glock's OEM 10 rounders. Shield Arms S15. Check them out if you haven't yet. They make +5 extensions too for a 20 round capacity. I've been a Glock 19 guy for a good while, but I'm seriously thinking about making the switch to the Glock 48 since I heard about these.

The 48 replaced my 19 for CCW the grip on the 48 fits my hand better. My accuracy is better along with speed on follow up shots. I took a defensive pistol class last year with my 19. I took the same class last week with the 48 and the results were better with the 48.

    • @xox0951

Yeah people keep saying why not just use a 19 and this is the exact reason, thinner so it conceals a little easier, a different grip profile which is good for people like me who hate double stack glock grips. If the difference in size makes you shoot better then I’d say it’s the better carry option for you.

2:22 not a critique of Chad’s shooting but I’m curious what order you all repeating your firing process:
Break shot, recoil, trigger reset, reverify front sight alignment, break shot
Or, break shot, recoil, reverifty front sight alignment, trigger reset, break shot.
Something I noticed at the range today is that I do the second option naturally, but the RSO (who instructs part time) had me drill doing the first option. It actually shaved a little time and kept my grip a bit more firm while slow firing a full mag.
Just a thought! Give it a try and tweak your form where needed.

With Shield Arms S15 mags, you can get 15 round flush mags in the same space as a 10 rounder from Glock. They also offer +5 extensions so you can carry 20 rounds and only stick out a little bit. The Glock 48 with one 15 round S15 mag in it, plus a spare 20 round S15 mag, ends up taking up less space on your person than a Glock 19 with a spare Glock 17 mag, *and* you get more ammo. *Something to think about*
Sells show how much the general public like/wants the firearm.
*1st* the Glock 17 in the early 1980 became a top seller for Glock & a cult classic
*2nd* the Glock 19 over took the G17 as a best seller due to it form factor, it was easier to carry basically & just as accurate at CCW distances.
*3rd* recently in the last few years the Glock 43 has started to become Glock's best seller.
*4th* Now the Glock 43X & Glock 48 are out. *The G43X seem to be, for now the number 1 Glock in sells.*
According to Lenny Mcgill of *The Glock Store* he said the G43X outsells the G48 (3 to 1).
For every one (1) Glock 48 sold, there (3) Glock 43X's are bought.
*5th* Conclusion in the above contest: Glock 43X vs Glock 48 vs Glock 43
The *Glock 43X* wins by sells and thus in popularity.

    *Model 50 (32 GAP)*
The Model 48 is a very good size, though I don't like the silver colored slide or forward slide serrations near the muzzle. I prefer the Model 19 as it fits my hand well and has a markedly higher magazine capacity, but for people with smaller hands a Model 48 makes a lot of sense, though if people with small hands also have hand strength issues then the 9x19mm round will have too much recoil for optimum control. I would like to see Glock introduce a variant with a high capacity 17 round magazine in '32 GAP' - a lengthened (22mm case) high pressure version of the .32 ACP round (60-gr bullet at 1,500-fps) - tentatively called the 'Model 50', which would have much of the performance of the 9mm round but with markedly less recoil (much as the .327 Fed Mag has much of the performance of the .357 Mag but with markedly less recoil), along with a Model 43 sized variant with a 12 round magazine, and a high capacity 25 round magazine that both can use. It should also have a rail like on the Model 19 so it needs a full length frame.

Would the G44 make a good trainer for the G48? I have the G44 (love it) and am considering replacing my Hellcat OSP (a little too snappy and slow follow up shots) for a Glock 9mm, I love the G19 but it does feel a little wide for comfortable long term carry. Thoughts?

It seems like Eric doesn't want to like the 48, his already decided in his head he doesn't like it before he shot it, Chad is optimistic af and I appreciate that, the glock 48 might be silly but the front serrations and capacity are already better than a 43 and the grip in my opinion feels much more comfortable than a 19

Is the slide on this pistol easy or difficult to rack? I've found that the G19 is easy enough, but I've had trouble with the 43X. While I've enjoyed shooting the 19, it's a bit big for my hands. I'm considering trying either this or the 43X, or maybe both, next time I visit the range. As of right now, I've chosen the P365XL as my first carry gun, but I'm looking for a Glock pistol for a secondary all-purpose gun (carry, practice, SHTF, etc.) I've considered this one since I've heard good things about it from both men & women alike, but I'm not completely sold on it yet due to the lower capacity compared to the XL. PSA is supposed to be coming out with Micro-Dagger mags that will be compatible with both the G43X and the G48 without having to change the mag release. If they prove to be reliable, I just might go with either one.
