Navigating Acid-Base Calculations | MCAT Content

- In this video, we will cover how to sequence acid-base calculations by using a calculation concept map. We will build our map up by understanding how the conversion in the p-scale (pH, pOH, pKa, and pKb) are the same as well as how we convert between K-values and concentrations.
After we have built up a simple version of the map we will learn about how to convert from Ka and Kb values into hydroxide and hydronium concentrations and finalize our map. Throughout we walk through example problems.

That previous video was a live and had an error so this is a redo and a condensed version. Eventually I will replace the lives with cleaned up versions that have better visuals.
Hey, would this work in all instances? In the first "full map" question, I based my answer on what integer value I'd need to add in order to reach 7, which was 2.
Then for the second full map question, I did the same thing, giving me 3--then I subtracted 3 from 14 to get 11. I'm sure this is what your video explains, but I'm not sure if my shorthand is reliable. please lmk your thoughts

It is the weak acid concentration (0.01 M) listed above the map in scientific notation form. This piece of information would typically be given to you by the passage or question.
