I absolutely love the way he plays the cadenza in the first movement. There are a few spots he does differently than I would (not that I am anywhere close to being able to play this yet haha) but that's one of the most amazing things about music: everybody gets to have their own interpretation.
Wow, the standard keeps rising. When I was a college student 30 years ago, even the best clarinetists found the Nielsen a huge challenge; now a 17 YO can give the pros a run for their money.
This performance indicates not only a highly technical achievement but also a passion for the emotion in the music. Very fine performance, sir, and I have favorite this to play from time to time. Thank you!
Enjoyed this thoroughly! Just passed my grade 4 clarinet and cant wait to develop more skill and one day play somewhat as good as this! Although this is amazing, way above what I ever could play most likely
THis is the first time I have heard this clarinet concerto. Very nice. I like the orchestration and use of mood changes as Nielsen explores the different timbres of the clarinet. Mr. Han...wow! Excellent performance with so much control! The cadenza at 5:30 was a virtuoso performance!
The part starting at 7:26 kind of has this feel of a train hurtling towards another one, and the music gets faster and more intense as they get closer until.. BAM!
Amazing! 17 years old! Almost perfect performance. Only thing is the orchestra; the strings are not always in tune (especially first part), and I think expecially the bassoon(s) is/are really out of tune all the time!! It's really disturbing and annoying!!

The most fun opening to the hardest concerto
On his page he describes:
Clarinet : Buffet Tosca A and B-flat
Mouthpiece : Vandoren M30
Ligature : Rovner (Eddie Daniels)
Reeds : Vandoren V12, 3-1/2

We can tell that he is a great musician because he makes the piece look easy.
This piece is actually more difficult than it sounds, if that's possible. Kim pulls it off brilliantly.

Very Well !
나는 김한 형의 클라리넷 동영상을 보고 연습한다 정말 다른 클라리네티스트와 달리 음악을 즐기면서 한다. 진짜 존경한다 !!

Playing Nielsen @ 17...So jealous. Amazing
Boooyahhh, good job. Hanikim Skywalker.
In norwegian: det er jo nesten ikke til å tro hvor god og fantastisk denne unge mann er. Kan det gjøres bedre?
Does he play a transcribed version? I bought the music and I start on A-flat, while he starts on a G. Someone tell me
+mingzhewang Do you know where you could find a copy of the piece for A clarinet?

lo staccato della cadenza è da studiare però...
MUSICAL
Snare drum awfully loud towards the end.
Je suis d'accord !
I thought the snare drum was very well done ...
it pretty much is lol.
I think, that you are listening Martin Frost too much...

Nielsen is nothing but a famous name...
perfect technique but poor understanding of phrasing
Great!!!
